Ditto... took the words outta my mouth!

    ESPN

    Sean Singletary
"Not wonderment," he said when asked if he was surprising even himself with his hot hand in Virginia's 108-87 victory against Gonzaga on Wednesday night, when he scored a career-best 37 points. "I was just wondering why they didn't play more `D.

I agree, I own ESPN and MVP, and I love MVP, but I think ESPN will be getting most of my time! I have had some great games the last two days vs. the AI! I do think that if the AI stole in MVP, and they fix the "top spin" leftie problem, it could be the best baseball game ever next year! But ESPN is underrated and a present surprise!

Re: Okay, I\'ve Made My Decision, And The Winner Is...

I owned WSB2k3 last year and loved it. This year I wanted to try MVP as it looked like the game of the century. So I got MVP and LOVED it but as time went by I was just not hitting any homers with my left handed hitters and since I play with the Reds, that made Griffey and Dunn a nonfactor. So when ESPN came out I was reading the good impressions and decided to trade in MVP for it.

At first I sorely missed MVP and the way it is was presented. A better fielding camera, swing animations and some very good fielding not to mention that when I gunned one from the outfield, I felt like I was gunning it. Also the user controlled slides and PIP for the runners.

But the more I play ESPN the more I am not missing MVP. As a matter of fact when I heard that EA was going to patch the lefty issue, among other things, for the pc I was going to get the pc version also and put my time into it. But I am just having so much fun with ESPN and actually getting and receiving walks just makes the game so great. Plus there aren't as many circus catches. Does ESPN play a perfect game? Definitely not. I hate the way throws are loopy and I hate hitting a line drive down a line only for it to be a single. I can't stand the one and only camera view for fielding, but when I have a game where I am owned by Greg Maddox through 7 innings...only getting 3 hits and losing 2-0, and get a walk, passed ball, striking out, grounding out and a hit and a home run to go ahead 3-2...well that is just exciting. Not to mention trying to close out the ninth and walking a runner to load the bases loaded with 2 outs and getting the save. BASEBALL AT IT's FINEST.

Anyway, I agree with the sentiment here. I will definitely be giving MVP a try again next year. I mean they are so close to one of the best baseball games ever, how could I not try it. But the season ESPN gets the nod and I don't think I will be dissapointed.

wow, no love for the best baseball sim, ASB, eh? of course, that's opinion too... but I think ASB feels the most like baseabll. before the flames begin though, I'm playing ESPN more right now because I'm really up in the air on which one I like overall. graphically with ESPN having widescreen and 720P support, it's just like being at the park. so it's a toss-up now... i feel like I'm playing baseball when i play ASB, but ESPN is so pretty and does a great job of putting me in the game as well due to graphics, etc....

we need sugar mommaz so we can stay home and game all day... sigh... my current wife wouldn't stand for that though.

for me, ASB feels right, but ESPN just looks so good. i think if ESPN didn't have Widescreen and 720p support, I'd be playing ASB exclusively because the graphical differences would be minimal... but you can't describe the difference if you haven't seen them.
