I'd say your problem lies in the effort meter. It seems most of the time I try to put any effort into a pitch, it'll get jacked. I usually put little to no effort in it, particularly if I'm trying to paint the corners or throw any strike. If I'm ahead in the count, sometimes I'll put full effort into a ball off the plate. If you like not being able to hit your spots all of the time, you can change the Human pitch variability...that's what I've done.
I play like this on the All-Star setting, and the CPU usually gets 0-3 homers a game off of me a game. Most of the time when they do get a homer, I know I've thrown a bad pitch just before they hit it.

I totally agree, this is what seems to be happening to me. The effort meter seems to give me a better chance to strike out a hitter, but if they make contact, it will be solid contact. Since I've begun tapping it, my results have been much better, with use on the occasional need to get a strikeout. But tapping also gives me better control so I walk less ---Thus the need to adjust variability. Adjusting variability may also increase CPU offense, because you will groove more pitches than otherwise.Comment

Re: I am getting my a$$ kicked every game...help
If you're playing All-Star level and you've enabled Custom Sliders you've already bumped down CPU hitting by 10. On All-Star Level the CPU hits at an ability and power level of 60. With Custom Sliders they go down to 50 until you change it.Comment

Re: I am getting my a$$ kicked every game...help
i've adjusted sliders to make the cpu more likely to swing at a ball and occasionally not swing at a strike. I thought the default was a little bit too eagle-eyed.
The power meter seems to work well for me , but one thing i noticed was that the same pitches i tried to power-up were the ones i was challenging hitters with. Also noticed different pitchers get different results with the power. - One pitchers curve might break more and go slower with less power , and another's might be much sharper on full power - so you have to get a feel for each guy.
I usually use the power when i need a little more speed on a pitch - for example a fastball under the hands you want that extra 3 mph , but a change up low and away you would not want extra speed ...Comment

Re: I am getting my a$$ kicked every game...help
I think you guys have hit the nail on the head. I have used at least %50 on the meter for all my FB's with lil to none on the offspeed stuff. I have noticed that this not only makes it harder to hit my spots it also tires my pitcher out after just 60 pitches. Perpaps i should try using olny about %25 effort on FB's and none on the offspeed. I was/am having insane trouble striking out the AI. Maybe doing this will help. I guess my logic was, since i had a guy who threw 98-99mph and had a wicked CB then i would only have to use those 2 pitches. That may be the case but now i will try the low effort approach.Comment

Re: I am getting my a$$ kicked every game...help
I switched to that method last night and the cpu lit me up in the first two innings but after that they got 1 or 2 runs. It was an awesome game went into extra innings. In the top of the 12 the cpu scored a run. I came up to bat in the bottom of the inning and started off with two singles. The cpu walked my next batter. I got the count to 2-2 on my next batter (with the bases loaded). The next pitch hit my batter. I won on a fricken hit batter. How amazing is that? This game really had it all. Also the crowd was very loud in extra innings.Comment
