Pitching tips
Anyone have any? The last 3 games I played the CPU score all it's runs on homeruns. I'm giving up atleast 3+ homeruns a game. I'm paiting the corners and mixing up the pitches. I've tried with the power pitch meter off and on. Nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?Tags: None -

Better to give up 3 walks then 3 home runs
Keep the ball away from the other teams sluggers. Try the approach that "either this guy is going to swing at a pitch that is a couple inches out of the strikezone, or he will walk."
Unless you already have men on base you can't be afraid of a walk to a top hitter. Its those 3-1 pitches that someone throws good enough to avoid ball 4 , that so often get crushed. You might challenge him once or twice with your best pitch (by ratings)in a tough spot. What if there is a baserunner on 2nd,first base is empty, no outs and a good hitter is up ? - intentional walk. or better yet give him an unintentional-intentional where you tease the hitter with pitches that are out of his reach.
The computer is much different then a human opponent because they arent consistent in their timing. So if they are late on a pitch , you can't depend on them being late again. -

Thanks. I'll give them a shot. I'm so use to the computer not going after balls that I hardly ever throw any.

Well that's your problem right there.Comment
