What's Different?
It seems that a few are praising this game as if was a new baseball game from Sega, but in the time I had the game I saw very little change and felt that it was last years version with online play. Sure they added a few things, but nothing to raise an eye brow over. I keep hearing that the games has TONS of new game play. Now that a week or so has passed since many of you got the game...what is new and what stands out? What makes you want to spend $40 to play this game? Is it not last years game with a new cover? No flaming please, just info...thanks!Tags: None -
Re: What\'s Different?
I agree... Just Jon Miller (major difference), a few more noticeable animations and stat refinement.
Furthermore,
1. First Person Mode is a waste.
2. The pitch effort control feature is a joke.
3. The player scaling should've been there two years ago!
4. The useless overhead view.
The three major things they didn't fix were the home run replay camera, the animation of infielders catching balls Willie Mays style in the infield and the county fair organ music.
That's pretty much it!

Re: What\'s Different?
For starters, the steal problem is gone that was a gamekiller for many! The stadiums and field textures are obviously more detailed and closer to real! The true aim batting style is excellent, reminiscent of HH! The AI is even better than last years. The sliders are more abundant and actualy work the way they are supposed to! Why would you totally revamp an already good game, when you can fix MOST of the problems that plagued it last year and make it great? I don't know what game you were playing, but this is my keeper this year!Comment

Re: What\'s Different?
uhh last year was cursor hitting where this one is true aim high heat style. That alone is a big enough difference.
I disagree with the effort meter being a joke, it really changes the amount of stamina used and how much the ball breaks making it harder to hit your spots. That was the point of it.
The animations and AI are vastly improved.
Plus now they have LIVE play. It's a major upgrade.Comment

Re: What\'s Different?
this game is as close to a baseball sim as we have this year very realistic. They improved gameplay and alot of little bugs that held it back last year if you cant see that after just a few games then you need to stick with all star 05.or mvp .Comment

Re: What\'s Different?
Rmacteague,
Tap the pitch button everytime and you'll get better pitching performances and long outings from your pitchers.
Changing gears...
I could see how most of the High Heat transplants adore this game because of the newness they must feel. Admittedly, if this were the first version of this game engine, "World Series" rooted game, I'd feel extremely satisfied.
