    Answer Needed!

Ive read that the depth charts do not work when simming games! I can not believe this since it worked last year, however I would like to know from some gamers if this is the case. Also do the cpu line ups sub accordingly to work around fatigue?

So can some one try by placing a player to play 50percent of the games and see if it works or will the same lineup start all the games barring an injury. Can you guys check the CPU teams stats also.

Hey pal. I ran a quick, unscientific test when I first heard this. I'm running my own Braves dynasty, so I sub guys myself, but I started a dummy dynasty with Arizona just to see. I set the sub% high--like 40-50% and simmed a few weeks. All I can say is when I went to the depth chart for the start of next game, it looked like they were subbing guys in and out because no one was orange. For what it's worth.

Depth charts don't work. If you play or sim the games, your starting lineup never changes. If you played WSB2K3, then you saw how it worked last year. The pre-game lineup cards would change.

Position player fatigue seems pretty random. I've seen players be orange (tired) after the team had a day off when they were fine before. And also, if you're looking at the depth chart, no player is ever orange anyway. The only way to look up player fatigue on the depth chart is to view each player's player card individually and look to see if their status is "tired."

If you sim a season with injuries off with an American League team, all of your starters will play 162 games providing they are on both lefty and right lineups. Your bench players will only have maybe 5 ABs tops.

So how does this affect those of us who play all of our team's games? Does it not affect us, or will we just never see whether a player is tired unless we open their player card? Also, does it affect CPU teams?

You can tell if a player is tired...Their name will be orange in the pre-game lineups. As long as you substitute players in for your tired ones and keep injuries on, the results will still be realistic. Depth charts don't work for the CPU either, but with the healthy amount of injuries and player movement, you won't notice that much of a difference.

However, if you sim seasons with injuries and CPU trades off, every starter (on both lefty and righty lineups) will play 162 games and bench players (who are not on either lineup) will play in less than 10 games.

OMG this seriously sucks! I am one of those managers who likes to make sure everyone gets adequate playing time so that the younger players develop well the older players stay healthy and everyone remains happy. Accomplishing these things just got a lot harder.

I'll run my own experiment -- this is so hard to believe.
