Can someone explain to me the hitting system???

I'm having problems grasping the new hitting system (default) for this years version. I know in pitching you can aim with great detail where you want to pitch.

Is the hitting system just picking the correct zone out of 9 to swing in??? Or is in a finely accurate system like pitching is, if so how is this different than the cursor system beside actually not seeing the cursor???

    Thx in advance.

One more thing - I found out how to turn off the pop-fly lockon camera (It really bugged me) but how do I do this for XBL play? It seems the online options are really really limited.

To put it simply. Yes, it is picking the right zone to swing in but you also have to time your swing. The difference between it and cursor hitting is you can actually watch the pitch out of the pitchers hand and try to follow it to the plate, which is much more realistic than watching your cursor. The L stick is very sensative, so you have to judge how far inside/outside a pitch is. If a pitch is inside and a little low, if you pull the L stick down and in too much you won't make good contact or will miss entirely.

          Mad,

From what I understand it is a true 360 degree system in that it isn't so much zones as it is spots. So if a ball is up and away you will push the left stick all the way up and all the way left to hit a line drive. However, like cursor-based hitting if you want to get some air under the ball you have to aim a little below the location of the ball. The same is true for ground balls, a little above the location. I have found that pulling or spraying the ball has more to do with your timing than the location of your swing.

It works great for me because I strike out a LOT and it is not a piece of cake to make contact. The movement of the ball is enough that I can be way off on my location guess. And then I find myself waiting for an off spead pitch and they bust me with a fastball that I swing at as it is being thrown back to the pitcher (just kidding of course). The point I am making is that the pitch speed variations combined with the hitting method makes, in my mind, the perfect hitting experience. One that makes me feel like I am really there.

try to match the location with exactly how much you aim the Left thumbstick

I have a question is the cursor system still in the game to? I liked last years cursor system.
