Re: Something was updated today on XBL for this game 4/30/04

Since when does each game come with a free live subscription?? If that's the case then why buy LIVE subscription cards? Or Starter Kits?

Where does it say it has a free subscription with the game, because I can't find it.

Thanks for the info Neolithic, unfortunately I don't have any games that gave me a 2 month free trial card. So the point I was trying to make without being insulted was that without that I need to shell out at least $40 for a 3 month subscription card in order to patch a game I already have paid $40 for in the first place. Sorry, maybe its just me but I believe all patches to fix a game should be free of charge. They should have found a way to get the patch out without needing an account.

Well, they didn't. It's not even up to Sega/VC, as XBL is a close network that requires an account to use.

So: should they not release patches so they don't upset people without XBL? Or should they do what they can to get fixes to people who can download them?

See that's the problem it shouldn't be an either/or scenario. With all the available streams of communication I find hard to believe the idea that they couldn't find a way to do it.

The way it stands now is like I went out and bought a nice 12 speed blender. Got it home and found out that speed 6 doesn't work. At first its like "oh well, who needs speed 6 anyway I'll probably just end up using either 1 or 12, right?" But then the more I use the blender the more it bugs me, so finally I call the company tell them and they say "Yup, we wired that model wrong, but we'll fix it for you, just send it back plus the amount you paid for it, and we'll send it back good as new." Now you don't REALLY need speed 6, the blender works fine otherwise, and its nice that the company it willing to fix it for you, but its the details around it that kind of irks me.

Ah well, enough of my stupid rant, in the end I'll just bite the bullet and get XBL Sub.

Oh, I'm sorry if I insulted you, I wasn't trying to be mean or anything. SO, sorry again if I did...

But, Yeah, XBL is sorta an intresting beast, I got a starter kit the day it was out, I will say that everyone who CAN get XBL do so. It's really that awsome...makes games as cool (to me) as LINKS that much better. Just the other night, I Was playing a 4 some game of Stableford (variation of golf...won't bother explaining) for 3 hours. And It was me (from Northern Illinois) a guy from NY, a guy from LA, and AND....A guy from Scotland, and we were playing on St. Andrews in Scotland. The guy said he lived about 20 minutes from the course...

                              That is just too cool.....

Oh well, enough of my sales pitch...I'm glas ya decided to get the starter kit, you won't regret it, I promise!
