tons of online problems

usually there online games are creme-of-the-crop and most stat intensive/competitive online.

why is this game so BROKE online, and why is sega completely ignoring it? this is not like them.

its a bit fustrating that the game has been out almost a month, and yet nothing has been mentioned, no statement released, just leaving it as is.

The game lags, they know it. its not fluid like most of there online games. they know that. and the servers are a mess as far as stat tracking....This is ok, if they need time to fix it, but they wont even release something stating if they are even trying to repair it. i planned on playing this game online all year long untill next years version, the game is great, i just wish there was some kind've response or something, stating they realize the problem and effort is going into fixing them.

Some games are fine online, some lag. This is suppose to be a broadband exclusive service...theres no excuse for the lag. there's plenty of bandwith going both ways to run this game flawlessly. there must be some kind of bug in the code/servers thats causing the lag...and lack of stat tracking.

*sigh*

post GT too please so i can add you. im having a real hard time finding games online.

It amazes me that it's basically the same game as last year. "live" WAS the big implementation this year....and they still can't get it right. Lag,scoreboards and they even messed up the friend's list! Off line the game is great...On-line it's a joke.

SPEED vs. LAG
As far as connection speed and lag is concerned ,these are my thoughts; There seems to be a slight but noticable difference in reaction time when playing online. Now , another online issue - check swings- my experience is that i can check a contact swing nearly always , but online to check a power swing it seems to be only about 50/50 chance of checking.
Lets talk about the dirty b3yotch known as LAG. When the players move in slow motion , a changeup seems like a knuckleball and your chances of hitting a fastball or laying off bad pitches is worse then if you got your lazy *** out to a real baseball team... yes this is LAG. Im going to be stubborn and insist that 90% of lag can be prevented by checking your opponents connection speed.
If i am challenged more then once by a player who is not visable on the screen i might accept and ask him to create a game so i can see his connection speed. Except for friends , I do not play anyone who has less then 5 connection speed. When i have matched 5 green bars w/ an opponent I don't think i have ever had any lag beyond what i was talking about earlier with the slight delay. I havent seen any slow motion crap thats for sure. Still , I have heard a few complaints about players seeing 5bars and there still being serious lag. If this happens to anyone , if you could reply to this post and list your discription of problem, pitch speed, difficulty level that would help troubleshoot it. thanks

Records questions - well my records seem to work fine. I have noticed when i first long on it might show me as 0-0 for some reason and then after a game or something it shows my true record ? I hear people say that it doesn't keep records at all for them ?
Records seem like a server or xboxlive issue rather then something saved to the xbox ?


Online Etiquette
Try to have your communicator around at least for ground rules and stuff.. why not ask before you change rules/options... don't choose extremely similar uniforms as opponent u knucklehead... , use your bullpen to relieve - not other starters... if u use a voice mask please pass on the highpitched or metallic variety... consider letting a cutscene or 2 play... do not rapid fire pitch the nanosecond that the pitcher has the ball...

okay, i prefer MVP way more than ESPN, but you cannot compare how much better ESPN is online in comparison to MVP.

the ball doesnt get thrown, it warps from the pitchers hand into the strike zone.

I was one that said here a few days ago that i preffered ALLSTAR online more then ESPN because of the Views But we have been consistently playing and have really grown to love this game online !! we had a couple of great ones last night i beat my buddie 2-0 and 7-1 in the first game Nomo just shut down the Marlins and in the second game i pitched a 5 hitter against the A'swith David Wells as he couldnt hit my Curve hehehe ... it takes some time getting used to that batter cam view but after you do and settle down you stop swinging at everything and its a very fun experience !!! i am 5-1 online now ........ it doesnt show my ranking or wins and losses but hopefully they will fix this like they did with Links Golf
