This isn't a question about how to pitch, I can get people out just fine, but I just can't get strikeouts on All-Star level. Any tips?

The question is what techniques do yall use to get strikeouts. I can get people out, but I just can't get hitters to miss the ball.Comment

Maybe it's your slider settings (contact perhaps)? I can get anywhere from 4-8 with Boston's rotation. What I do is start off with an offspeed pitch down and on one of the corners. Then I try a full effort fastball up and in (sometimes a strike, sometims not). If I get them to 0-2, I waste a few and will even run it to 3-2 before throwing something off speed low in the zone.
That's about all I can think of. I just really mix up my pitches and throw at the corners. Try lowering the CPU contact slider to 45 or so and see if that helps.Comment

i like to bust the batter inside. usualy he will foul most of them off. When i get to a favorable count though i will usualy try to throw the pitch that has the biggest difference from the last.
For example if my second strike was a fastball. I am either going to throw a change or curve, (or visa versa) in another area of the plate for my third strike.Comment

What is yall opinion on use of the effort meter, I try to mix it up on there, and sometimes it gets them to miss, but most of the time, it gets them just to hit weakly. And I can't seem to get any foul balls by the CPUComment
