    Edits and ratings?

    Hey guys,

Concerning editing players like pitchers. I want to make sure the proper MPH is reached on several pitchers. My previous post about Carlos Zambrano is an excellent point. IRL he has a 93-96 mph fastball, but in the game it is 85 or so. That is unacceptably low to me. Not looking to make every pitcher like Wood or Prior you understand..just wanna make things a tad more real. How does the editing work so i can accomplish this?

I haven't used Zambrano, but from what I've seen, most pitchers throw harder than they do in real life if anything. Here, try this - if you're using the power pitching meter, make sure you use full effort on fastballs to achieve maximum speed.

If you aren't using the power pitching meter, select fastball and hold the button in until the pitcher releases the ball. There appears to be an invisible effort meter. If you only tap the button, your pitcher won't use max effort and his speed will be slower.

Of course, more effort means faster fatigue though.... Slider adjustment will fix this if your pitchers are fatiguing too quickly.

If none of that works, the editing feature seems to work pretty well. Your fastball will have 3 attributes (movement, speed, accuracy). Speed seems to relate exactly to MPH (88 speed would be aproximately 88 MPH).

Check out his velocity rating in the player editor. A lot of pitchers are inaccurate. For example, Sega has Pedro throwing a 94 mph FB when he really should have a 90 at this point in his career. I changed it to 91 myself.
