my owner is killing me. i have the pirates and i am double digit games down from the teams in first and hovering 10 games under .500. i have made some trades to improve, like sending benson for austin kearns in 5 or 6 player deal. i traded for burroughs and greene from san diego. but all the deals i made were for young, emerging talent with low salaries.
i cant get quality pitching and i am losing a lot of late leads. and i mean enough to be in contention. i tried to make trades for some quality relief but my owner "the fan", for all intents and purposes, negates them because of money. i went past the trade deadline and am now relegated to the fact i will not even sniff the wild card race.
i am down to playing a game or two every other day now that nfl 2k5 is out so it will be a looooong last 50 games.
i realize now this game seems to give the same frustration some GM's must feel.
