Fatpitcher one more question if you do not mind.

Since you have the Behind the Pitcher POV has there been any thought to a behind the fielder POV? Or possibly one in the works for 2K3?

I might be in the minority, but I actually enjoyed this camera on defense which was offered in some of the PSX Triple Play baseball games and Roger Clements for the NES (to name a few off the top of my head).

I can safely say that we will not have a "behind-the-fielder" cam that shows the flight of the ball during home runs but keeps you in suspense not knowing whether the ball is a home run or not.

Edit: wise-assery aside...yes, we actually played with that kind of cam last year, but found that it would horribly difficult without a bunch of radars and gauges to help you track fly balls and stuff.

Well FAT...I hope 2K3 deepens its baseball experience to the level or even surpasses that of All Star Baseball before it starts adding the fluffy kid's eye candy like pitcher's raisin their hands at the batter after a bean ball and stuff. Sega has a great reputation for being VERY deep with their Sports game's X's and O's ie Football and Basketball 2K3 versions....lets hope their Baseball game can follow suite and be just as realistic.

please assure me that the behind the pitcher view would be similar to Tony LaRussa 95 for Genesis.

Last time a game tried this behind the pitcher view (Triple Play) the whole game was played from behind the pitcher. You couldnt catch a flyball b/c you couldnt see the ball and instead of UP being second base, DOWN was second base. It was terrible. I really hope its nothing like Roger Clemens Baseball or the failed attempt in Triple Play.

Please assure me that as soon as a player hits the ball, the game immediately reverts to the default field view that we are accustomed to seeing in video games and television.

if anything make the behind the fielder view an option for those that enjoy it.

One of our favorite activities here is leaving out things that aren't fun or intuitive.

Nice screens, looking good. Hopefully the gameplay will be better this year though. More walks, less accurate pitching, better fielding(easier to turn a double play), better CPU baserunning, hitting, and overall A.I. Keep up the good work FatPitcher.

Errors...miscues.... Errors!!......Fat, add much Variety!! Every fielded ball doesnt have to look like a Derek Jeter espn highlight play of the week. Add some subtle fielding animations as well. Every player scoops and fields grounders on the run!

Add throws that go in the dirt or sometimes get by the first basemen.

Fat make throws that GO OFFLINE! 75% of throws from the outfield to homeplate arent perfect strikes to the catcher....make some throws skip by or go wild or even moreso.....pull the catcher off the plate requiring him to field it up the first or 3rd baseline....this happens all the time in baseball and very few outfielders can fire that perfect bullet home.

Add variety to the sliding and fielding of throws to a bag. Have the catcher throw some bad balls down to second on steals.

VARIETY...VARIETY.....Baseball is a game of poor execution as much as it is off execution. Add some variety to it. WSB plays too perfectly.

Fat please fix the stiff Batting and Pitching animations and make them more fluid and lifelike. Ie HomeRun King and All Star Baseball have great batting and pitching animations.

The game is online also correct? If so it's a 2 horse race between wsb and HH.

LOL!!....2 horse race for the silver perhaps....right now, as it stands, ASB is the king of the hill when it comes to deepest most complete realistic baseball game......Homerun King could pull up a close second with its very addicting play style but WSB and HH need to make some seriously big strides to close the gap.

No one can protect you from the All Star Police. They will be here shortly, and I suggest you just hear everything they have to say, and just like the real police use "yes sir and no sir". Tell them you plan to buy a copy of ASB 2004, and promise to be good.
