YP, Good call on that one.... I have had more than one game in MVP where a screaming foul ball down the line has hit the runner in foul territory, and they make the correct foul call with the runner not being called out. They even mention it in the commentary, why the runner is safe if he is hit with the batted ball...so long as he is not in fair territory. These are not "gameplay" issues so to speak, but they certainly show that the programmers were paying attention to some of the little things..

Well the videos look pretty good, but there are a few nitpicky little things that still need to be worked on. I saw one pick that looked like Dave Roberts was bunting with one knee on the ground. Again very little things that will probably be fixed anyway. I also hope that stealing bases is not as easy as the video made it look like. Probably just playing on an easy level so we can actually see bases being stolen, but who knows. I can't wait for all of these games to come out!

I could be wrong (hopefully not), but stealing can't be that easy.

We have to remember that those videos are either baserunning tutorials or highlights. Won't be fun to see a baserunning tutorial with guys getting gunned down everytime.

It's like saying you'll hit a homerun every at-bat just based on highlights.

I'm also convinced that IGN was playing on the easiest level. I highly doubt that SlamZone always equals a homerun. There's a button mashing system to pull up your power. There wouldn't be a need for this power guage if you'd hit a homerun everytime. In addition, you still need to time your swing so my guess is that you can still swing and miss.

Considering that IGN has a history of playing on the easy levels and then complaining about how easy a game is, I'm taking everything they said about the challenge in the game and throwing it inside the garbage. 17-15 score by the 6th inning? Come on, that's gotta be on Rookie.

Well, maybe I should have read the GameSpot article before posting.

According to GameSpot (and in this situation I'll take their word over IGN's) they struck out more than once during the SlamZone situation. They also say that SlamZone is nice because it can also only lead to extra base hits. It is also noted that if you guess the spot wrong, you could end up swinging and missing. So, there is in fact a downfall to guessing all the time, which is great.

If that's the case and it's not a lock to become a hit machine then I'd be more willing to leave the option on. Guess, I'll use it in situations in which I need to look for a certain pitch.
