    Hitting System

Is it just me, or isnt the best reason to get Sega's baseball game the hitting model? I just hated having to push up all the time to hit a homerun in MVP.

    Its A+

The High Heat system is the most intuitive hitting system- I was so happy that ESPN was using it.

Well, ESPN isn't really using High Heat's hitting model, which is 9-zone hitting. ESPN is using a 360 degree model, where aiming to hit it is rather more based on the sweet spot that you get on the bat, rather than making contact itself.

If anybody here has ever played Interplay Sports Baseball 2000 for PSX, then you would probably agree with me (if you re-play it) that that game has the best zone hitting of any game, even better than High Heat.

I just think the default system should be timing based hitting, not a normal button and power button. I Just always hated that for every baseball game.

Last year it was so easy to hit homeruns in 2k4.

Obviously you didn't change sliders. You wouldn't get enough home runs with Power on 35, you're telling me that you went all the way to 1 and still hit too many home runs?

Use my slider set if you still play.

That's true. I really enjoyed ESPN's hiting system last year. It's the first time I've enjoyed a hitting system since HH (which was similar, but not the same as you already stated).

I don't know why more companies don't do something similar to this. It makes much more sense than pressing up for a flyball and down for a grounder. Groundballs/flyballs should be based on contact more than location of the pitch.

Why in the world would you ever not press up? I recently bought MVP again after returning it a while back, and now I remember why I returned it. I like the pitching system, but the hitting is absurd. I must say it has some pretty eye-candy though.

THE THING IS IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT EASY ON THE DEFAULT SLIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!! moving sliders just feels like you are fixing the game the way you want it, not how it was intended. I do not like any kind of advantage at all. I love play on default levels of every sports game.
