    First Party vs. Third Party

Can some of you business gurus explain to me what First Party and Third Party games makers actually are? I know from what I am seeing that EA is NOT a third party so I am just trying to better understand.

    Thanks, GoodyBucs

Sega (Ps2 and xbox) But they are buying the rights to be the only 3rd party company.

    989 (Ps2)
    Microsoft (Xbox)

Can both still make baseball games under the license with the deal.

So if the deal goes through we might see WSB (Sega) MLB 2006 (989) and High Heat (Microsoft) but we will not see MVP (EA)

First party=a company that either makes both games and its own gaming console, or a company that only makes games for one console (example-989/Sony, Sega pre-2002, Microsoft, Nintendo)

Third party=a company that makes games for two or more platforms (example EA, Sega, Konami).
