    Baserunning

Am I the only one having a lot of trouble with baserunning? Like for example 5 minutes ago I hit a ball into the outfield (hit the wall) and I rounded first, tapped A a lot (and of course hit L to go to second) and when I go into second to slide I instead progress to third? Am I doing something wrong? (I've had this problem both in baserunning mode and also just the normal one with the 4 corners of the screen being a base)
    Lifelong Bengals and Buckeyes fan...yeah...

I had the exact same problem. You know what I did? I turned off turbo (for both offense and defense). I seem to like it a little more that way.

Hmm I'll give it a try, though I like the turbo feature.

You gotta pay attention to the box your runner is in on the outside of the screen. Each time you pull L-trigger, it cues up a number in that box that tells what base the runner is going to continue to.

It's like this: Say the bags are empty, and you crush a liner to the wall. You round first, and start clicking L-trigger to advance. When the runner rounds first, there's a number in his box that says "2". That means he's going to second. If you click L-trigger again, that "2" becomes a "3", and your runner will not stop until he gets to third, regardless of how out he's gonna be. If you round first on a probable double, and mash the L-trigger three more times, the number in the box will actually be an "H", meaning the runner will not stop until he gets to home.

So you have to be careful. If you set the number too high, and you want to bring it down, say, to "2", to hold your guy on 2nd, you have to click the runner's button, and R-trigger until the number reads "2".

It sounds like a pain in the ***, and it sort of is, until you figure it out and get used to it.

The trick is to not mash on the L-trigger. In games past, you could hit the advance-runner button all you wanted. You can't do that with this game. You have to pay attention to the number in your runner's box.
