Manage only mode how????
Just picked up the game and can't figure out how to play a game or season in manage only mode. I can't find a choice for it under any of the options. Will one of you guys help out an idiot (me)? ThanksTags: None -

Re: Manage only mode how????
Mister Redbird,
One thing you can do. Put the game on CPU v. CPU. I did that this morning and was amazed at how different the presentation is. Every pitch shows a different batting view. The camera angles on the plays are varied and it is amazing. I haven't tried it, but what you can do, sort of a mini-MOM is....
1. Pause the game, go down to CHOOSE SIDE and switch to your team.
This would allow you to at least put pitchers up in the bullpen, pinch hit and bring in pinch runners, make defensive replacements. I haven't tried it out a full game to see how it works, but I tell you, just sitting and watching the in this mode is great.
You might give that a shot and see how it plays out.Comment

Re: Manage only mode how????
I'm a manage only guy and what I've been doing is letting the CPU handle the batting for me by going in and swithcing control from me to the CPU. The presentation on that is pretty cool - you get all sorts of different camera angles on the pitches.
If I get a runner on base and want to put a play on (steal, bunt, H&R) I'll take control again and go into the baserunner mode where I can tell the batter what to do and control the runner. If I have a really slow guy on base I'll usually just let the CPU handle it.
I control the pitcher and play defense manually (which is kind of a bummer), but I don't mind the pitching aspect of things. In ASB manager mode last year you picked the pitches you want to throw anyway so to me that's not that big of a deal. I have the pitching options set on the old style "point and shoot" system.
Its not a perfect manage only mode, but it is a decent work around. It allows the batters and ptichers ratings to impact the outcome of the play, not my reflexes (or lack thereof).
I have to adjust some sliders as my games now have been very low scoring with no walks and too many strikeouts going both ways (playing on All-Star).
The gamecast also works well to watch things clip along and make substitutions, etc... without taking up a ton of time.Comment
