Re: Fixes for some of the problems

Damn, I was hoping that would eliminate passed balls Like, I said, after I set it off I didn't see any passed balls in 15 innings of play, so I thought maybe it did work.

I did hit a HR with Thome using the contact swing, and I had a couple others go to the wall, so at least I won't have to use two buttons to swing. The pitching sliders did seem to work, as I saw the CPU throw a lot more balls....I even draw a walk!

It's a start. I've only had a couple hours total to put into the game so far, but at least it looks like there's hope for the major problems. I do feel much better about the game after last night than I did the first night.

After re-reading Blzrs post there may still be (slight) hope. It sounds like he changed the setting in the middle of the game. Maybe if it's done before starting a game it will have an affect. When I changed it, I did so from the main menu prior to starting a game. It's worth a shot. Maybe if a few others could try this we can get a large enough test group to determine if this does anything.

Yeah, HRs with the contact button are definitely possible. I jacked one with Jimmy Rollins off a contact swing .... and if he can hit a HR without the B button, I'm guessing most players can.

I think sliders in 2k5 can GREATLY improve the gameplay in almost all areas except the passed ball thing. I've already adjusted mine so I'm getting plenty of walks and the CPU doesn't hack away.

If they can fix that somehow, I think we'll have a darn good game here. It's strange, in that once it happens (The passed balls) it KEEPS happening. Often in back to back to back pitches. It's almost like they forget to turn off a flag or something in the programming. I never have it where it's like one time in the third, another in the seventh, etc.

I'll post what I have when I get home or over the weekend, sure.

Hmm, I suppose I should also mention that if one of your problems is getting too many hits using true aim..I can't fix that one.

True aim is easy; you'll get too many hits.

Reducing the contact slider should correct getting too many hits.

Webdanzers post just gave me another idea of something to try and fix the passed balls issue. I wonder if a mound visit would calm the pitcher down enough to avoid a second passed ball on the next pitch.

The fielding in MVP absolutely crushes 2K5 this year.
Yep, I can't believe I'm saying this but MVP is drawing me in. I'm finding myself wanting to play it instead of 2k5. NOT COOL as I'm probably an 2k5 fanboy (I love their games). The presentation is no where near 2k5s, but the game is REALLY solid!
