Just had my best game in franchise!

i thought this would be a good way to start up some nice positive vibes for the game.
I just had a nice 1-0 pitcher's duel with my franchise team, the Pirates.
Had Kazmir on the mound (acquired via trade) and beat Adam Eaton in a great game. Struck out 7, gave up only 6 hits, and got out of a 6th inning, no outs, runner in scoring position jam.
I managed my only run on a 2 out single by Wilson driving in Bobby Hill from second. Shut the door down the rest of the way.
Fun fun fun! So what's your best game so far?
Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York Rangers

The game in which there are no passed balls...hasn't happened yet.

I'm also running a franchise as the Bucs. My best game so far was a 14 inning marathon against the Reds. I ended up coming out on the losing side, but was glued to my TV the whole time. A very exciting game, and a great pitchers duel, final score was 4-3. And only one passed ball the whole game, by the AI.

I've only gotten the chance to play about 5 franchise games, but two have been really great so far. I'm the Giants...

            1) 1-0 game against LA. Opening day Schmidt throws a perfect game. This was still on Pro level where I couldn't hit very well but pitching was WAY too easy for me, but still the first no-hiiter I've thrown in a videogame, pretty exciting.

            2) 3-4 L against San Diego. Just played this one with some slider tweaks and it was great. I sent Tomko out there and he pitched OK, glad to see the CPU able to get hits and runs off of me. Gave up a 6th or 7th inning 2-run HR to let them tie the game and it ended up taking 3 extra innings to decide a winner until Nevin hit a GW HR in the bottom of the 12th.

I'm really having a lot of fun with this game. The extensive amount of sliders are working great for me, I'm starting to get a game I feel comfortable with. I want to get shelled some nights, but I also want to be able to have some pitchers duels as well, it's a fine line but so far it looks like I can get that with this game.

Re: Just had my best game in franchise!

Had another great game last night, my Bucs battled back against the Cubs from a 2-0 deficit to take a win 3-2. No homers, all runs by both teams were scored the old fashioned way. It was the first game for new pitcher Esteban Loaiza (welcome to Pittsburgh!) Lots of fun, NO passed balls, everything acted the way it should have.

Except for the post game stats. I brought in Mesa to close, and he got a ground out and then two K's to end the game. Post game stats show him with no K's. Also, Loaiza had at least 3, and his stats showed 1. I have also yet to have a player of the week appear.

It's a shame that this game has such a Jeckel/Hyde personality, because it does a lot right and my last few times playing have been great ballgames. But then the stats pop up all goofy, so I don't even bother to check them anymore; I only look at the standings. Makes it tough to make roster moves and such, when the stats you use to make your decisions may not be accurate.

Here's hoping they patch it, because it sure has a lot that's good.

I had a 10 inning thriller with me being the yankess vs cpu orioles. Sosa stole 2nd and then 3rd base while scoring to take a 1 run lead late over me. I eventually tied it to send it into extra innings. Then i got a couple of people on base when steroids giambi hits the game winning run off the wall. The final score was 4 - 3. They showed a cut scene with some of the yankees players jumpring around congratulating giambi.

I just started my GM career for the reds...traded paul wilson for a young, but promising starting pitcher. (it was a goal) Anyways opening day against the Mets...it was a pitchers duel, Milton vs. Pedro. Thanks to a HR by Griffey and no thanks to a triple by pedro (missed the dive) it went to the 10th inning. In the bottom of the 10th with Griffey on 1st Casey hit a short 388 FT HR to center field. AWESOME game, was so close.
                        Lifelong Bengals and Buckeyes fan...yeah...
