Re: Just Got The PS2 Version.... Any Questions?

Is ther an option to use a batting cursor? The timing thing is a little bit too easy and not realistic at all. Last year's game had an option for it, although the default batting interface was the same as this year's I believe.

Yes, there is an optional cursor batting system to switch to if you don't like the timed hitting.

The cursor is junk this year. I explained why here: http://forums.operationsports.com/vB...d.php?t=115938

thanks for the reviews......Have you played any games with the Cubbies yet? Is Sosa in the lineup? I like that feature with the Yankees intro, do they do player introductions for every team? I heard someone complain about not being able to get a full power-up in Slamzone and usually end up just poping out. Is this true?

Haven't played with the Cubs yet, and yet to check their roster. I doubt they do those kind of intros for every team, it's just that they do it every home game at Yankee Stadium, aka the "Role Call". As for the Slamzone, yes, it's possible that you won't hit a jack every time. I think this is a good thing because it leaves some suspense and does it make it such a 'gamebreaker'. However, the majority of the time, you will at least have a shot off the wall.

Just got home and played two games.

                        Good news and bad news.

Good news: the game's starting to grow on me, at least somewhat. I don't mind it as much, and it doesn't piss me off just playing a routine game. The interface and menus are still crap, but at least the presentation adds something to the experience.

Bad news: the passed ball bug is definitely alive. First game I played this evening had one passed ball. That's fine, I say. The next has five. Yes, five. I had to institute my own house rule not to advance on but one a game...this is a crock.

What's more, I put it on all star and I still had four guys with a multi-hit game. One had two homeruns, the team ended up with 18 hits. A complete debacle. Never got a real feeling of baseball out of it. Pitched a complete game with Mark Prior, 6 ks, only threw 7 balls. The pitching isn't realistic at all.

Really, really frustrated. I want to like this game so much, I support 2k games traditionally because they're better, but I can't help but mentally compare this game to MVP 2004, which tells me something's wrong.

if you want to throw some balls switch to classic pitching, set the variable slider to 100 (contrary to what it says on the difficult page it makes your pitcher have poorer control), i try and hit the outside and inside of the plate and have good ball-strike #'s that way.
