Please tell me your joking or something. 3 games and you've given up? Wow.

Hey if you guys are digging it then that's awsome. I just think that compared to last years ESPN it's a big letdown. Maybe I"m just really enjoying MVP, but it just seems like MVP has been put together so much better. IMO.

See I thought ESPN was absolute crap last year, but for some reason it seems it was only me as a lot of people are saying last years version was better...

Maybe it's because I have a PS2 version and not X box, but some of these bugs are just unheard of. For instance starting a game with your pitcher batting in the number 5 spot. That's just rediculous.

I also prefer MVP this year over 2k5, but i dont know how anyone can NOT be impressed with 2k5's graphics this year.

2k5 has the best graphics of any baseball game that ive ever seen.

anyway, even besides the incredible graphics - 2k5 is a great game. I just think that MVP is more fun.

Agreed! I love MVP as much as the next guy, but calling Take 2's game a steaming pile of garbage is way off base. The graphics, announcers, and even the ballpark sounds are marginally superior to MVP's. As a matter of fact if it wasn't for the playable minor leagues, I doubt I would even own MVP. I love the pitching and hitting of 2k5 more than MVP, however I do like the fielding model of MVP better.

I've played 5 games in my franchise and I've seen 5 wild pitches/passed balls. All but one of them came with a man on third. Three of them came when I was pitching and the other 2 came when the cpu was pitching. Two of mine came in the same game and actually were the difference in the game as I lost 5-3, but two of their runs were scored on passed balls.
I don't know what the real percentage is of passed balls/wild pitches per game...2K5 may have actually gotten it right. I'd guess that you'd average seeing one per game, but I could be wrong. Either way, I don't see it as a bug, but as a feature that may be happening more frequently than intended. Does MVP even have passed balls/wild pitches? I haven't seen one yet so I don't know.

Either way, I think MLB 2K5 does a wonderful job of capturing the feel of a major league baseball game, as does MVP. Instead of drawing lines in the sand and saying which one is better, we should all be thankful that we have 2 excellent baseball games to choose from this year, not to mention how cheap they are. I'll be enjoying franchises in both of them.
No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

Wild pitches, yes. Passed balls, I don't know.

Good points Z. I played both games and yes the graphics on 2K5 are some of the best i've seen on a console. From what i've seen MLB2K5 is a very good game and is a blast to play. I just think MVP is a little better.

                          IMO both games are keepers

Mlb 2k5 is awesome... tweak the sliders... Yes the passed balls (its the catcher) is an issue but will prolly be patched... Other than that this game is lights out... Mvp's graphics are washed out and look dated... Not what I would expect on a xbox (oh yeah.. I have both Mvp and 2k5)...In Mvp the plyers look very toonish and the graphics as a hole are plain lousy... The gameplay is solid I give them that but it also is WAY WAY WAY WAY too pop fly happy... (the computer mostly)... Mvp's mini games are a blast thats the best thing about the game! This years Mvp feels like every other Mvp ive played and its stale.Period. 2k5's graphics are prolly the best ive seen in a sports game... if people tell you otherwise they havnt played it... the screenshots and movies do not give it justice at all... trust me I thought they were going to suck... heck I thought Mvp was gonna be better... but I was wrong... After messing with sliders 2k5 is prolly the most enjoyable baseball game ive played since High Heat 2003 ... For anyone that liked HIgh Heat 2k5 plays more like it that Mvp easily... Kush took 2k5 and totally recreated it... Mvp is basically the same game without the lefty bug and player progress... Even on Mvp based sites like MvpMods.com most people say 2004 was better than this years.... that says something.... For those of you on the fence give 2k5 a shot.. if you are open minded and dont come in jaded by fanboys reviews... you will love this game... Especially after the passed ball glitch is fixed (no where close to as bad of the lefty bug)...
