For those who played World Series 2K3

For those who thought WS2K3 was an awesome baseball game:

How does MLB 2K5 compare as far as realism? Last year's game just didn't have the same feel as 2K3. I'm wondering if this year's game is closer to 2K3 or 2K4 as far as realism and overall...

WS2K3 is a far superior game to last year's WSB and this years MVP. Somewhere along the line this game lost its way. I'm hopeful it will find it next year.

    MLB: Red Sox

Like I've said to a lot of people on these forums, I thought 2k4 was absolutely a piece of crap. And I am having lots of fun with 2k5 so I would say, without a doubt, 2k5 is closer to 2k3 as far as realism/overall goes. (but if your nitpicky and cant handle passed balls then dont get this game)

I think that ESPN MLB 2K4 is the best most realistic baseball game since High Heat 2004. WSB 2K3 was very flawed. Most people think that ESPN MLB 2K4 is crap because they have not played it or played it but did not tweak the sliders. It is my opinion that ESPN MLB 2K4 is more realistic overall than both WSB 2K3 and MLB 2K5.

I thought last year's ESPN Baseball was the best b-ball game I ever played. The only thing wrong was the crappy swing animations and lack of CPU foul balls. From a simulation standpoint, it was pretty satisfactory.

No, I played it and I still thought it was crap.

I bought an xbox solely for playing WSB2k2. I thought it was really really fun. Then I got WSB2k3 and continued to love the game tons; I didn't see anything wrong with it. Then in May I bought MVP to give it a shot, and I thought it was pretty good. Then I went back to 2k3 and noticed the horrendous swinging animations. I hadn't a clue how bad they were until I picked up EA's game, and ever since I have not touched a 2k game. Through online videos I can pick up those slight things in the gameplay that bug the hell out of me such as:

                            - Players look like plastic
                            - Stadiums looked too big
                            - Swing animations were a joke
                            - Fielding was just dumb IMO
                            - No life in the player animations

To this day I hold that the 2k series has the best pitching camera ever. I watch baseball and remember how great 2k3's camera replicated the real thing. Unfortunately, that and the impressive stats system are the only things I recollect enjoying about 2k3.
