Some tweaks that helped me out

Based on a few hints from others on this board, I made the following changes to my normal game settings last night.

Turned fielding boost off
- to help with the vacuum pitchers
Turned runner boost off
- to make it fair since I turned off fielding boost

and most importantly, I turned off the name and turbo indicators on the players. This had made it 100% easier to see the ball marker when fielding line drives and fly balls to the OF. Many times in the past, the marker would be obscured by the players name an turbo bar, but not any more. This has really helped alleviate the problems with the fielding camera.

Also, I play on All-Star with Sim Settings, and Classic Pitching. The game is playing really great now, and I don't miss the turbo or the button mashing when running. Just thought I'd share...

yes, I turned off all the turbo stuff and I pitch with Classic also.

I have everything off as well...but I'm thinking of doing one of two things.
Either turn the turbo ON for baserunning...since the rightfielders are always trying to throw out my slower rated(speed) batters running to first on basehits to right.
OR
editing the speed up for those guys it happens to.

Some things I've done for a better gameplay experience.

No advancing on WP/PB's. Period.
Turned off vibration and cursor for pitching while using the classic method.
Turning pitcher variability to 100.
Turning AI Skill to 89.
Turned down AI throwing aggression to 12...to stop them from trying to throw out the lead runner(and succeeding inordinately!) on my sac bunts....
Can't think of anymore right now...but I'll check on my next game...and post them..

Knight, is there is a baserunning speed slider? I noticed this too when I turned of turbo run for baserunning. And since I am getting ready to setup my league this same way, I would like to adjust the slider if it needs it before hand.

A just a stupid ? i had to ask how in god's green earth do u turn the vibration and cursor off to make pitching more realistic?

Go into 'Controls' under 'Game Options'.

knight, you know we covered this at tpg.

if you have to make ground rules as to what you can and cant do...there is something very,very wrong.

i havent given up.

I know Mike...but for some God forsaken reason...I LOVE THIS GAME!
I HATE the fact that they released it with these stupid glitches...but ....

With the sliders set the way I stated above...and turning off the cursor, hot/cold zones and vibration....the pitcher/batter interface is awesome. Especially when a speedy guy gets on first...and I have to keep watch on him....because if he goes...he's probably gonna get that base!(I upped my catcher arm ratings...because with the stupid camera glitch...they were getting every time.)
When MLB2006 comes along....I probably won't be playing anything but that(I HOPE!!!) so I figure let me fool around with this and see if I can get it working?
