How are you guys managing pinch hitting for the pitcher? Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help. Really enjoying this game otherwise.

Double switch
Any of you guys successfully do a double switch? I know this was a problem with last years game. When you pinch hit for the pitcher, that player who pinch hit does not stay in the game.

Re: Double switch
That's not a double switch. A double swith is when your team is in the field, and you bring in a new pitcher and a fielder at the same time then you do a double switch so if the pitchers spot was due up the next inning, the fielder that you just brought in will take his spot and the pitchers's spot switches with the spot that the fielder you just took out was in. But your right, we should be able to keep our pinch hitter's in the lineup. -

Re: Double switch
This took me a few games to figure out....
the double switch option isn't in the sub menu that you hit the white button for, to do normal subs..
If you want to pull off a double switch, you have to hit start, go into the sub menu that way, and it's the last option down. You can do it whenever you're able to pull one off. I just pulled Oliver Perez in the 8th, pulled Santiago, put Torres to bat 7th, and put in Cota to bat 9th..all worked out fine... had 8,9,1 up in the bottom of the 8th.
edit:
I just gamecasted a couple games to see what the problem is....
If I bring in a pinch hitter for a pitcher, it puts that player like he's a pitcher..so the next inning when you want to "complete" the double switch, you have to take him back out...you can just sub in a pitcher for another spot in the batting order and then change their positions......oddLast edited by ramenite; 03-05-2005, 08:38 PM....Comment

Re: Double switch
I think the real problem is ..when you are batting your pitcher in an inning and pinch hit for him.
Here is what happens...
Say Glavine is due up third in an inning....I pinch hit D. Mientkiewicz for him...the inning ends and I want to keep Mientkiewicz in at first. There is no way to put him in as the first baseman. The game keeps him as a pitcher and tells you that if you want to sub for this player...you must do it from the bullpen screen. It sucks if you are an N.L. team.
If anyone knows a work around...please post it!
