Wow! That is a serious problem... Yeah last night I tried to bring in Matt kata to pinch for the pitcher... men on second and third one out. Eventually, Craig Counsell struck out to end the inning. Well, I just wanted to leave Kata in as 2B and swap out Counsell (my second baseman) with the new pitcher... no dice.

The problems just keep piling up, don't they?

It's been a problem since at least 2K3, so it's not something new by any stretch of the imagination.

That's what I've been saying this whole thread. Horrific bug if you use a NL team.

Re: Double Switching, is it broken?

I use the Cardinals, and while it does kind of suck that a pitcher can't be moved to a fielding position, the double switch DOES work the way that it is used 90% of the time (when the CPU is at-bat and you're bringing in a new pitcher).

Regardless, this is far from "horrific" if you use an NL team.

Yeah it is. "cause if you pinch hit for the pitcher, the pinch hitter can not play in the field at all because he automaically becomes the pitcher.

Actually, technically, a pitcher can play in the outfield if he wants... he can switch with any player in the field, but no manager would do that unless Rick Ankiel was on the mound.

LOL, I should have said the game automatically makes pinch hitters into pitchers.

Again, what you have explained is far from horrific. If you just used a pinch hitter, why would you want to leave him in the field? He is likely due up 7th, 8th, or 9th in the next inning, and almost any position in the lineup that you would double-switch him into would result in the picther's spot coming up earlier than if you would have done nothing.

                                Again, FAR from horrific.
