Classic Pitching..what is it and does anyone use it?

    Fellas,

Is Classic Pitching just picking the spots and the accuracy is based on the rating of whomever the pitcher is?

    Thanks

Yes, and using the left thumbstick to aim. I use it because K-zone and the meter are too accurate IMO.

It sounds like the way to go if you want the realism and variability of the different pitchers in the league. The meter and KZone styles leave too much room for user error.

That could be true. You can feel the difference in P Accuracy by how soon the controller starts to vibrate when aiming the pitch.

yeah..i like the meter style..and i think this goes by taste..i just think is a bit boring the classic, with really works as if you are the catcher, just calling the pichtes..

Re: Classic Pitching..what is it and does anyone use it?

I use classic. I've heard a lot of good things about the K-zone system, but it's not as realistic IMO (granted I've pitched only one game with the K-zone). That said, the K-zone might be more fun for the casual gamer.

With the classic (w/o any visible locator), it's a game of feel. Depending on the pitcher you get a sense for how much room you have for error. It results in some mistakes left over the plate, more walks, longer pitch counts, and at the same time when you get in a rythm, it feels like you're actually pitching. Fatigue, ability, and confidence all play a factor. Sometimes you might start on fire with a good pitcher, and his next start you might struggle and get run, or you might settle down, but it's true to what pitchers go through. I don't like seeing where my pitch is going, I like having an idea of where I'm trying to throw it, but you don't really know how accurate you were.

Another plus, is that it still works well with the pitcher's camera - a better view when pitching, which is harder to use with the K-zone. I just don't see anything that the K-zone pitching has over the classic. Classic is more unpredictable and closer to the spirit of pitching.

Thanks for the info. I can't seem to get any variance on location with Classic. It seems that I'm always hitting my spots. I would really like to use this option because it puts more emphasis on the pitchers ratings and not so much on user skill. What is the variance settin at for you?

I guess that's kind of my challenge with this game. I would like less user control. Meaning, assisted fielding (they catch I throw) and better baserunning AI (I cannot get the baserunning down yet).
