    Fielding

I'm starting to quite like 2k5 and the option of shorter seasons is a big draw. I've switched to widescreen which has helped and many other people have helped the game with various fixes but stat issues etc. However my one problem is fielding. I seem to make too many errors (avr 3 a game) with errors set at 30 and often the cpu selects the wrong fielder for me and I give up hits because the shortstop is selected but the 1st baseman is the closer player. Any fixes for this ? I also seem to get infield basde hits because the fileders are too slow and I beat the throw.

    Re: Fielding

It’s been suggested the User errors slider can be set to 15 without the passed ball issue returning. There is an auto-manual fielder select option available. Try that? I haven’t, so I don’t know what it does. And fielders too slow… That could be the Fielding Speed sliders. AND while I haven’t beat out too many throws, many of the players are rated way too slow in this game IMO. Many players need their Speed ratings bumped up or it throws off the base running sliders which I’ve dropped down to 35 (I think it is). I hear some people have those sliders @ 75 or so – way too high, again IMO.

Yes, I didn't adjust the human errors only the CPU errors set at 50 and I don't see the passed balls.

I would suggest you set the CPU batters view at HIGH. It gives you a better view of the flight of grounders/fly balls. Also use the lock on for fielders with those fly balls and the fielders will lock on and there won't be any balls bouncing a few feet behind you.

I play the game and let the CPU auto choose my fielder and so far it's worked pretty well.

You're beating out infield hits? Hmmmm, you aren't using the speed burst for your runners are you?

what level are you playing on?, there is a difference in the arm strength of fielders as you go up or down in difficulty levels, those greyed out ones i mean that you can't change, i play on all-star now myself (i adjust sliders from that level) as i found that the stealing part of the game is better, on pro i could always seem to throw out the cpu runners but on all-star my catchers throw strength is less therefore more successful attempts by the cpu.
