In games past, we were able to play in sort of a Manager Mode. I remember a mode called "One-Pitch Mode" where it would basically fast forward you to the payoff pitch of each at bat. Is this option available in this game?

No, unfortunately.
One thing I fooled around with is I watched a game CPU v. CPU and let me tell you the presentation is great, different camera view with EACH pitch. I then paused the game, changed controllers to a team, put a guy in the bullpen and went back to CPU v. CPU. I then got a man on base, paused the game and then took control of the runner and let the CPU control my batter.
This way I could control a steal. You can substitute players that way and it didn't work bad.
You can also make changes to the other team in the same way. Sort of a poor mans MOM. -

Gamecast is the only type of manage mode you can use. Unfortunately I think your looking for a visual type of manage mode, the gamecast is text base like those text base pc games. Well if you just want a manage mode use the gamecast.
Oh yeah at any point during the gamecast you can jump in and play or jump back out to gamecast again.Comment

I would like to see an on-field Manage Only mode added to this game as well. MLB 06 The Show is the only game that has this as of right now. Unfortunately for me, I prefer to play a Manage Only game much more than I do actually playing, so I won't be able to give this game a try this year. I'd really like to though.It's only a video game.Comment
