The problem is this though: MVP03 was itineration #1 of that game, whereas this is like MVP02, if there was one.

MVP started off with a good foundation, MLB was kind of cracked. So now we are looking at one more year of fixing problems for a previous game, instead of advancing from there.

IMO, T2 should never have jumped the gun in getting the sole license. This could really end up backfiring in their face.

I mean, at least Madden is playable, in the strict sense of the word. There are no lock-ups, no passed ball type sitauations. You know going into next years NFL game that the only one isnt going to have literal gameplay issues. Sure you might not like the flow of the action, but all of the stupid bugs have been worked out.

But, I guess it's what you can tolerate. I was reading where one poster talked about how the ball doesn't hit the bat. Now, I tried pausing and glaring at my TV to try to pick this up, but what's the point? Even after pausing I still don't get it.

SportsmanTO, tell you how it's just personal choice, I don't like the KZone at all. I use classic pitching. I have never understood the meters, gimmicks when pitching. I guess it's because they can't figure out how to get pitching variability into the game like HH did? Don't know.

The guys who are enjoying this game, me for example, have no problems. Have I seen bunts, no, but I (my opinion) see so much good stuff in this game. I've not seen the AI "immediately" choose a wrong base. Not saying it doesn't happen, but....Somebody just talked about the swing animations. For the life of me, just me, I see absolutely nothing wrong with them. I think they look good.

Its so much more realistic than locating the pitch and then pressing A.

Good point. However, it's still a meter, and like another poster states above, meters are easier to master and then they become boring (honestly, I haven't really used the meter in this game, but in general, I'm not crazy about meters). Also, with the effort bar, using classic, not every fastball has the same movement or speed and not every curveball has the same break - depends on the effort, pitchers confidence, stamina, etc. Try throwing a curveball with little effort and it will get hit hard a lot more often than one thrown with a lot of effort. It's not just locating a pitch and then pressing a button, you aim to the approximate spot based on feel and then decide how much effort you're putting into your pitch.

Good point. Very well said I myself am having a blast with this game,used some slider suggestions and tweaks and away I went.
It's really comical to read some of the stuff folks are complaining about,it seems to me EVERY little thing is being nit picked to death,here's a simple solution......don't play the game,it's not that hard to decide.
The biggest thing in the beginning was the wp/pb thing......well guess what?? problem solved,are there other problems? sure there are,but what I'm seeing is the inability of folks to TRY and use the sliders for some (not all) of the problems their facing.

That doesnt signal good things for me, at all.

I 110% agree with you. I'm a big franchise player and honestly I haven't been able to enjoy a single 2k game this year. I think this is a good foundation for thier future baseball games, but I won't hold my breath that they will actually work.

I do enjoy the game for what it is though.

Madden will VERY likely regress in the years to come because they have NO competition. Take Two has competition and they are under pressure to make a decent baseball game and this bodes well for baseball gaming. Too bad this is not so for football.
