    Any fixes for these?

    hey fellas,

I'm starting to like the game alot more since I first picked it up 2 weeks ago. I've switched my screen settings to widescreen and it has helped the camera angles alot. I've also found some sliders (a variation of Blzr's) that have helped create a playable game. A couple of issues that I'm having a hard time dealing with are the following:

    1. Pop fly throws. I find this to be the most annoying. Runners beating out routine ground balls. Throws from the outfield that go straight up in the air. I have no idea how this made it past the testing stage. I hjave baserunning speed at 40 with no speed burst.

    2. Sacrifice bunts. I have yet to execute one and have yet to see the cpu even try one. I have the sliders max'd out for both.

    3. Poor decisions by the cpu when deciding which base to throw to. Runners at 1st and 2nd, grounder to first and he throws to third.

    Thanks for the help.

    Re: Any fixes for these?

    1. Are your throwing sliders (the blacked-out ones) set @ 0? If the Custom sliders were reset to 0 when you set your sliders, your throwing sliders will be locked @ 0. I've only seen the high throws with this setup. Also, if the fielder's Arm Strength is too low, it'll happen.

    2. The bunts happen, but the logic seems inconsistent. I also feel it might be a player ratings issue -- bunt ratings too low for P's or something. Maybe lower Hit & Run / other situational sliders -- that might help...?

    3. Some poor AI logic in the game -- don't think it's fixable. Maybe tinker with the Throwing Aggression slider for that one and see if it helps, but it'll cause other problems is my guess.

they sac bunt. depends on situation.

i am learning the hard way the fielding ratings matter. using seattle, i had to take ibanez out of left field and put him at DH. on line drives to the outfield, if he got to the ball and turned around he would frequently just miss it.

i changed my lineup and put guys with better fielding ratings and i dont have the problem anymore.

programming bad decisions by the AI is the hardest thing developers have to do. players in real life make dumb decisions also.

The throwing sliders are locked at 0. Should I reset the sliders and move the throwing sliders and then adjust everything else? If I adjust the throwing slider what should it be adjusted to.

With regards to the sacrifice hits, I've seen plenty of situations where a sac should have been called and it wasn't. Too bad. The AI in this game still needs alot of work.

One more thing, do we need to control the actions of every baserunner? Runners on 1st and 3rd, no outs, ground ball to second and the runner on third stays put. Another example, runner on second grounder to the right side. Runner stays.

You may or may not have to reset the sliders (black button, all sliders back to 0 on Custom difficulty). I think you can just go to Pro level where the throwing sliders are all 50 for both User and CPU. That's where people are setting there Custom settings from. I did, but I'm now using the higher setting as the starting default for my Custom sliders, because CPU throwing numbers are higher, and the CPU C can throw me out when I steal. At 50-50, I find it too easy to swipe a base on the CPU.

The User base running is a bit screwy. My guy on second will often run towards third on a ground ball to 3B, even with 1B open. You have to manually order him not to run in that situation, or he runs into the 3B tag. It's different with different situations.

Here's the trick if you want the Fielder Throwing Sliders @ 50. When you reset the sliders, hit the back button. When asked if you want to save them say NO. Then go back into the sliders., then go to custom all the sliders should be set @ 50 including the Fielder Throwing Sliders
