Explanation of Cursor Hitting??
I'm about to trade MVP for this game because I'm sick of MVPs hitting system after three years. I've always liked cursor based hitting systems like in the old triple play days (without the horribly inflated stats). I did a search for cursor hitting in this forum and I was a little confused about 2K5's cursor hitting system. Some were saying that its not like the old cursor systems. Can someone explain the cursor batting system in 2k5, because its the reason I'm probably going to trade for this game.
Thanks for the info.Tags: None -
Re: Explanation of Cursor Hitting??
The most obvious change from previous versions is the Cursor can’t be set in position and left – the User has to hold it in place or it re-centers.
From some of the comments I’ve read here, a less obvious complaint is it’s nowhere near as effective – nowhere near as easy to intentionally hit over or under the ball to produce grounders and fly balls when one is attempting to do so. That I’ve definitely seen in 2K5 – hitting over the ball does not necessarily produce a ground ball. I’m just not convinced the Cursor’s the whole problem. In general, I’d say this game is too fly ball happy – the Power swing is redundant is in this game, for example. In fact, with my batters and with where I’ve got my sliders, the ONLY HR’s I hit are with the Contact swing. That shouldn’t be possible, but it is in this game.
I honestly think Cursor hitting could work properly – it’s already okay, and it’s literally three times as difficult as True Aim – if player ratings weren’t so juiced to start with. But that means mucho editing.
