Okay, someone explain to the roster glitch while trading in franchise mode.....

Okay, so I made a small trade for a back up OF in my Met franchise and all hell broke lose. Doug Meinkewitz just disappears and get all these error messages about my lineup. Then when I start the game he's back, but my lineup is all outta wack (Reyes playing RF, etc). I have HBK's rosters from this site that I'm using. I saved before the trade, so I still have my franchise in good condition but I definately want to make a few trades.

I hope this is a fixable glitch, cause it's gonna be pretty annoying if it's impossible to trade in franchise mode.

Someone else has to have experienced this....

I tried default rosters and edited, with franchise, season and GM mode and I get the same glitch every time. If I try to trade an uneven number of players all the lineups get screwed.

For example, I traded Cairo and Cameron for Griffey. Then everything went wrong for both teams lineups. Dougy M. just disappeared for me when I tried to edit my lineup. And another time it was Reyes who always went AWOL.

I even tried moving players manually using the player editor in franchise mode (via an injury email) and I had the same glitch, even when swaping a player 1 for 1, and when keeping all the MLB, AAA, and AA rosters even and correct.

I think that if you move all the AA players to AAA the glitch will be fixed.

That’s fine for your team. But it’s still a problem in Franchise / GM modes because you have to be able to send the CPU team’s player to the minors before moving players from team to team, otherwise the CPU team’s roster gets messed up.

From what I understand and have tested, these are the ways you can trade without the CPU’s lineup getting messed up:

        1. Minor league guys for minor league guys.

        3. Your starter or bench player for any CPU team bench player.

        3. A starter straight up for another starter -- example: RF starter for CPU team RF starter (so I’ve heard). What you’re trying to avoid is removing a player in a specific starting role from the CPU’s lineup, and replacing him with someone who doesn’t belong there. You could probably trade a LF starter for a CPU team RF starter or something like that without a problem, but like I said, I haven’t tested this one at all.

Two player trades might be asking for trouble, I don't know. But with this trade, the only thing that would make it work -- if it was going to work -- would be to move Cairo down to AAA, then trade. Hopefully (and logically, but who knows with this game) Griffey would end up where Cameron was in your lineup, Cameron would end up where Griffey was in the Red's lineup, and Cairo would end up as an AAA player in the Red's system.
