Can’t beat John and Joe – best ever in a sports video game, no question. On the other hand, the game will only improve several times over, which will make up for Joe Buck… providing that egotistical ding-dong partner of his isn’t allowed within ten miles of this game

For me, I'm never getting excited about another console baseball, ever. Every year (and it's been a long time for me) it's "wait until next year". I'll just sit and expect nothing.

Let's see MLB2006 full of bugs, freezing and they've added people to their dev team. Good or bad? I'm betting more hands and "ideas" will take this game one step back. Probably get a "make your own team bus", if that hasn't already been done.

This game 2k5, frust-rating. I played a game the other night, taking a break from my HH2k4 season and I tell you I couldn't hit the ball out of the infield. )Don't remember whose sliders I used.) All of them weak dribblers, or weak fly balls to the infield. I then played a game on LEGEND and just tweaked the AI ERRORS and had a decent game. Can't figure this game out.

Every year a developer gets some crazy idea and it usually winds up as junk.
Gameplay issues are ignored and we get treated with some type of junk added to sell the game. Ugh.

Remember guys, if EA decides not to make a baseball game, or can't make an baseball game then ESPN- the company- has the option to go to another party to have it developed for them. However, I do see EA actually losing money just to keep that option out of 2K's hands. But you never know. I think EA would be willing to put out a generic title just to have something out there so 2KSports wont be able to use the license.

It'll look amazing. Hopefully they'll build on the core of the gameplay they have now, because it's definitely promising.

as long as they provide more fielding cameras. I can't stand playing this game from this one angle. and no cut scenes for homeruns.

Interesting... the freezing is gone (thankfully) and the only bug I've seen is MOM being completely broke. Fix that, and what else is there to complain about? All they need is full roster management to please the likes of you.

And "make your own team bus?" I'm guessing you're inferring as to the game having sappy gimmicks? You must be mistaken with EA's games... MLB's lacking said gimmicks, thankfully. Beats that "point" thing ESPN has going... "Let's see... no bunting for you next inning!"

That's not baseball. We just want baseball. Career mode, franchise, season... an MOM mode with a view from the bench (if only it worked!)... no sappy gimmicks there.

Hell, their HR derby is the best out there... a blast to play.

Don't be so sensitive. Again you shoot of your mouth without reading how I've also criticized MLB2k5. You missed my point with the "team bus" statement because your'e such a fanboy. Add more developers like they say they are and there's a good chance someone will get some brainy idea to mess things up with a (now get this, tongue-in-cheek) "make your own team bus". Freezing is gone? For you maybe, but you just need to read the MLB2006 boards. Have you read on boards where I have said there I haven't seen ONE bunt in MLB2k5? No, you don't want to comment on that. Get off my back and go back to the MLB2006 boards and explain to all that the freezing issue is gone.

You got your utopia. Good for you. Hope all the added development team over at 989 don't screw up next years version with a bunch of new, cool ideas that only cause more problems.

I want there to be the best game out there. Don't care who makes it.

It's not about being sensitive. If I was sensitive, I'd actually care that you had the 'nerve' to write me up as a fanboy, being ESPN 2k3/HH2003 were my baseball game(s!) of choice 2 years ago, MVP last year...

I didn't mention anything about ESPN b/c, well... I HAVE seen how you criticize it. You've made it perfectly clear the only reason you're still playing the game is b/c of its roster management... Hence, the "likes of you" comment. Roster "Gods." You like full control over everything, right? Don't read more into the comment, as that was it's only meaning.

Adding more developers does not always equal cheesy game modes. The team increased from HH2002 to HH2003, and HH2003 didn't lose it's spark. Again, don't base everything off of EA.

You obviously missed the bunt comment as well. You were mentioning "sappy gimmicks" with your tongue in cheek, reference, correct? Well, what do you call ESPN's Head-to-head point system, where you can limit what the other player will do for half an inning? That's right, you forgot about that.

You and I both want the best playing baseball game out there. Don't know why you can't see that. The only difference is you're willing to deal with a more problem filled game b/c of roster options than I am (or maybe not, seeing as you're back to HH2004).

Either way, the initial response was solely to what you're missing out on. If MLB2007 improves on the things I've mentioned, what else would you have to gripe about?

Like I said, I just want baseball... and MLB is the closest thing to it this year.

I'm more interested in T2's offering on the next gen, b/c hopefully they'll scrap the whole damn game and start from scratch.

Imagine... in a year or two, we could both be playing T2's offering, using your rosters and my sliders...

But alas, I'm an optimist.

sorry to burst your bubbles but I don't think it would be game you are looking for

1. console games are all about memory

2. yes....x360 has much more memory than xbox gen1

3. but because these machine has to support HD...most of memory will go there(higher textures...texture takes most of mem)....meaning dev artist won't have much to work with to do something spectacular

4. Kush is a really cheap company(trust me I know)...they won't hire enough artists to do the job right (or qualified artists...)

5. I would recommend going for other baseball games next year

It will be amazing for me on the 360 if they fix the following!!

1. The horrible swing annimations
2. Give us OPTIONS of the field cam. I know it sounds crazy but this is a game killer for me. MLB and MVP the default cam is good for me. If 2k sports had this I would only play this game.
3. Player models ( all their heads have the same shape just different faces. Their heads look like tools

Pared, I will agree with you that MLB2006 plays a great game of ball. It has that one main flaw that some of us can't escape from....FREEZING. I rented this game 3x, put it on my HDD and it freezes, the other 2x it did the same. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, so I trade in MVP '05 (XBOX) for a brand new copy of MLB2006. I still got the freezing and something new of players getting stuck in motion which would lock up the game.

Then I decide to check out MLB2K5, don't get me started on this game as it was a mistake to even waste my time. It's a beautiful looking game, but the player models don't look right and the bats look bigger than the guy holding them. I wasn't a fan of the pitching either.

I then decide to take MLB2006 back and buy MVP again. It is a shame as 989 Studios has the best baseball game this year. If you can't finish a game out without it freezing, it's a waste of time. It aggravates me when people say that you should just fast forward through some of the game so freezing doesn't occur. What if I want to play the entire game w/out always FF? Sony won't even acknowledge this problem.

I'm with all of you... while all this MLB 2006 love might seem crazy on the ESPN board, all these games deserve comparison.

I know exactly how you all feel about the freezing... a few days after I had the game, the damn thing started freezing up on me randomly... I then set presentations to normal and have only had one freeze since.

It IS frustrating to be enjoying yourself completely only to have the game freeze. I truly wish we could all figure out what exactly is the problem, b/c who is to say it won't happen again NEXT YEAR (!) if they can't figure it out now?

Either way, it's pretty much "pick your poison" this year:

-ESPN and it's ridiculous amount of bugs and gaffes
-MLB 2006 and it's possible freezing, broken M.O.M., and poor roster management
-MVP and it's "A.D.D." take on baseball...

*Sigh* I'm just happy that MLB on the PS2 is working... and at the same time I'm having a blast with MLB on the PSP... utterly amazing...

I cannot wait for the x360 version of this game next year..
