Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)
mugenracer, will do... when i add it i'll post it here but put the link on the FIRST PAGE - POST 1. (the D-backs acquired Zagurski from Philly today so I'll get that added before uploading).
if you guys see anything glaring on the BATTERS (not pitchers - yet) please let me know. After reviewing some more stats, I'm gonna lower Carl Crawford's steal rating. I believe he has less than 20 this year, and I failed to catch that. But please let me know if you see anything (and provide me with a statistic on to help show your idea). I do appreciate the feedback.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

UPDATE: Offline File has been added to page 1 - post 1 (bottom of page). Includes Zagurski to D-backs (but no confirmed jersey # yet). I've also lowered Carl Crawford's speed a touch and steal rating to better reflect his 2011 stats. (These two updates are NOT included in the 2K Share file).
Enjoy!!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)
hey was just wondering what you think about john mayberry jr on the phillies this year. i see in the new update his stats are around 64 contact and 72 power (going off memory might be wrong) which i could maybe because this is the first time hes gotten this much play time in the bigs but still so far through a good chunk of the year hes played very well.
heres just a few points:
John Mayberry jr 262 at bats .275 average and 15 HR which is about 1 HR every 17.5 at bats
in game his power rating is closest to:
chase utley had 394 at bats .256 average and 11 hr which is a HR every 35.8 at bats
in real life his hr/ab is closer to:
ryan howard 554 at bats .251 average and 33 HR which is a HR every 16.8 at bats
now im not saying that he should have around 95 power by any means but for what hes shown this season i would think his power would be atleast closing in on the 80's and his contact at would be low-mid 70's .271 isn't great but better than 65 IMO
also a few other batting average wise
hunter pence is batting .320 since joining the team (idk his stats on the astros this year) but his contact is at 80
carlos ruiz is batting .286 on the year and only have a 70 contact rating
placido polance is about .275 but has an 84 contact rating. i'd lower his to about mid 70's like JMJ
rollins .271 contact rating is 64. i'd go 72ish area for him
and as much as its hurts to say utley is probably overrated. 76 contact rating but this year he's only batting .256 and the 74 power should probably be lowered too but its hard to tell on either because you can tell with the way he's swinging his bat he's been hurt for about 2 months now.
not trying to criticize or say ooh ooh make my team betterz, just trying to open discussion and see how you go about you're ratingsComment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)
...and imagine how long these rosters would take me if I did this for EVERY team. sorry, can't do this. appreciate your insight. now, if you're willing to do this for all 30 teams and also provide me with the specif attribute numbers, and all i have to do is just plug them in then i'm all for it. but i've invested countless hours of my life into this...i have no numerical formula, just rounded numbers that fit into the big picture of making comparisons and 2k's rating scale. thanks!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)
yea i know it'd take entirely too long to go through every player and change all the ratings with that much detail, so i wasn't saying go do that. i was just making an example with the few phillies players and trying to figure out how you went about rating people to understand it more myself. when re-ratings players i would go along the lines of lets say 99 power = about 45 homeruns a season, so 95 would be about 40, 90 = 35, 85 = 30, so on and so forth seeing as how players around 50 power will barely hit any. and kinda the same kinda thing with contact, i know you're rosters are for the most part roster updates and not ratings updates but with the 2 ratings changes you've done i was just seeing what approach you tookComment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)
One thing I wanted to point out...and I'm not trying to defend my ratings as I recognize they are very subjective, though I tried to develop them from a statistical hierarchy:
I think people need to understand that the OVERALL contact and power ratings for batters are NOT a true reflection of the overall player's ability. I don't think that the SPLIT ATTRIBUTES were noticed by the poster here who noted the overalls looked off. Yes, they will look off if the only number you look at is the "overall" rating. But if a guy has MORE power (for example) from the RIGHT side than the left side, I may have given him an 88 power from the right and a 77 (for example) from the left side. THAT will create a lower overall batting power attribute. So I don't think those individual ratings (when you look at the player by getting into the more detailed scouting report) were given much credit. Just wanted to point that out because after re-reading some of the posts above I noticed the complaint was for the OVERALL number - but you cannot simply raise a guy on both sides of the plate to raise his overall rating if it's not warranted. Thanks!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

apparently you and and that other dude that answered think im criticizing your ratings and im sorry if i came off that way even though i said in both posts that i wasn't. all i was trying to do was ask a questions but if that isn't the point of these forums then once again im sorry.Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)
Um, you are slightly mistaken: I haven't just done transactions, i also did ratings. the problem? - the ratings i did didn't match your wants for your favorite team. so, here's my suggestion: change them yourself, and make your beloved Phillies head and shoulders above every other team. i have invited feedback, but you never gave anything specific until AFTER i released the last file (and posting a website is not the same as posting specific numbers), which apparently you don't understand took me a combined 15 HOURS just to do ratings edits for BATTING ATTRIBUTES ONLY - I NEVER touched pitching ratings yet, and I'm riding the fence on whether I will or not. I don't get paid one cent to do this... Once again, it's the guy who actually takes the time to do this gets questioned, while those who sit on the fence and do nothing make all the complaints. (And when I rated Hunter Pence, for example, I rated him on his 2011 OVERALL numbers, not what he did with Philly. If I do that for him, then you'd expect me to change every player based upon what his final month's stats are worth. Do you really think I have that kind of time??) But thanks...Last edited by mkharsh33; 10-01-2011, 03:56 PM.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K11 ROSTERS (360 ONLY)
Mkharsh if you decide to do another roster update, Josh Fields (who you have on Milw) was released from his contract with COL to play in Japan and you have 2 JP Howells on the Rays MLB roster. If you do a pitching rating change, I would suggest using the 9/29 roster update and change anyone with a +/- 5 overall rating change. Thanks for your rosters for the MLB/NBA 2k games.Comment
