Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?
Thanks! Didn't get those in my first file..but will do so!!
FILE UPLOADED @ 2K SHARE!!!
"mkharsh33 pre-season 3.7.12 roster"
EVERY team has been reviewed using www.mlbdepthcharts.com - I have added a TON of players to this file, including all the Japanese players projected (currently) to make opening day rosters, as well as all the RULE 5 players!!!
I have a small handful of prospects added, but not many. This was very time-consuming, so it's a good start and we'll work from there. Enjoy!!!
I always love your rosters, they are so accurate. Im psyched you have completed the MLB level. Im gunna check out this roster tonight!
I noticed you have a CAP for Manny Ramirez.. but he is already there in the FA list of Left Fielder under the fake name "Dee Baker." But his rating is very low around 64 OVR. Too low IMO, and he doesnt have his dreads... but its def supposed to be him.
Does this include fake name changes for AAA teams? I noticed several guys on the AAA PawSox who have their real birthdays/heights etc... but had fake names.
(Honestly.. I never really care about fake names given to AA or A guys.. I dont know any of them anways.. lol. Im only interested in MLB and AAA accuracy with real names and lineups.)
Thanks again for doing this every year. Im so amazed at how much time you put into this each year. I also look forward to your Custom Sliders.Last edited by kpkpkp; 03-08-2012, 08:24 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?
I'm going to continue to work on this file before I go public with needing help. I have added 10 new Baseball America top prospects: Profar, Miller, Bauer, Bundy, Machado, Cole, Skaggs, Taillon, d'Arnaud, and Hultzen.
I'm not adding them fast because unlike a lot of guys who do this, I'm reviewing each player for accurate scouting reports. Pitchers will have their EXACT pitch types and a matched up (as best as I can) pitching motion. Batters will have solid stances and attributes.
I have also reviewed a number of the "fake players" and am fixing them as I go. When I upload a new file it will be even better than the previous. This game is WELL WORTH the time investment in making rosters...very fun!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Again...just some things I found. Plus the file I created is corrupted so all my saves went kaput.Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?
It was a mistake, and I'm just going to let it go. I matched up player model / faces and then realized I had used guys with prior years in the majors. something that will just have to be overlooked. Or, YOU could just rename those guys and zilch them out, but you'll have to recreate them yourself. Be mindful that each new roster I create will still have the old version of them on it... Sorry about this.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?
Any interest this year in working TOGETHER as a community in developing the BEST POSSIBLE rosters for MLB 2K12??
I think we have some outstanding talent here at OS, and would love to see a collective effort to work together on this. 2K Share makes this rather convenient to do, so I'd like to see the interest level on this, and then get something coordinated...
thanks! mike"Im all jacked up on mountain dew!"

Also are you changing existing players? Or just adding CAP's and changing fake names?
Im just confused as to what changes are in your roster...Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?
As the fake player names are being revealed, I'm updating them. I'm also using this as a guide, as ironically enough, many of them from 2K11 are the SAME for 2K12.
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-mlb-2k11.html
It's a long and tedious process, so for those expecting immediate results...not gonna happen.
I prefer to not use many created players as the create-a-player provided by 2K is just awful. It's very limited...
I'm not doing all the minor league players as that's not my area of expertise. As has been the case for the last 2-3 years since I've been doing MLB rosters, the MAJOR league players and top AAA players are what I'm most knowledgeable of. I have the MLB Package for DirecTv, so I watch a LOT of baseball. As more information comes in I'll add important players. I will add players as they get called up, and my final roster from last year had nearly 300 minor league prospects and EVERY player who got called up the majors.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?
sounds good... do me a favor and give me a bit more time. don't start working on this file yet. what I want to do is have the 25 man opening day rosters completely done. (for guys in a rush, grab some crap file that might have names, but little else correct.)
but i think it would be really cool to provide a file that has as many minor league teams done as possible. I would suggest starting at AAA and working down. My only concern is the amount of data we can change. Each year 2K seems to cap it at a certain amount of name updates, so we'll need to be aware of this. Thanks for wanting to help!!!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I basically am looking for a roster with accurate MLB teams... and mostly accurate AAA rosters. (for AAA I just want most fake names corrected, I dont even care about accurate lineups there since the CPU always adjusts them throughout the season)
I dont really care about fake names or innacuraccy at the AA or A levels. If it were me I woudlnt even bother touching AA. I've never heard of most of those guys anyways, and most decent prospects are in MLB and AAA levels anyways. So if some AA guy has a fake name I would never know the difference between his real one and fake one anways.
2 questions:
Did you see my post about how Manny Ramirez has a fake named player in the FA pool under LF's named "Dee Baker"? He is 39 y.o. with 19 yrs MLB experience, his OVR rating is low but its def supposed to be him. Though he has no dreads..
Also, when do you think you will have your next file up? Are you waiting for Oswalt to sign somewhere?Last edited by kpkpkp; 03-09-2012, 09:56 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 2K12 - COMMUNITY ROSTER EFFORT?
Oh, but I'm not starting over. The base file I'm using I've already put COUNTLESS hours into. I'm fixing fake players, and I've around 30 top prospects. I'm not going to piss that file away. So if someone here wants to start over, be my guest, but I'm not. The file I'm now working on will be THE file that I use. If I start over, I'm throwing away more than 20 hours worth of work at this point...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS
