That everyday pro roster for play now will not be effected much by the mlb 17 update, it will just clean up any players who signed that have the same Con and Hr and small things like that but also balance out the younger players on the roster in contrast to the MLB players and AAA.

Remember 4 seasons have passed and players ratings have changed. For instance Miller is ranked 96 in 17 and what 92 in 16? In the original roster for 13 he was 79 with still erradic control. Now if you look from a team stand point.... That makes Cleveland a higher rated team with 4 points added from last year to this year. You dont think Chapman doesn't effect the cubs, and now the yankees Ovr? Cubs are still good but lost lots of pieces. The Bo soxs are well improved but are not the best team in the game and as present they are rated the best in this game. Price im sure will be in the 80-87 range as he had a bad year last year.

These are things that i notice. But im thinking of how to best utilize whats out there till xbox 1 gets their baseball **** together!

Just wanted to explain myself a lil bit better.

So I should just work on accurate rosters and players, not ratings? How can I send my Brewers rosters to you when they're done? If players play multiple positions should I do that?

1)Yes. 2). As far as hitters are concerned you can use their teams mlb top 30 prospect to get ratings for both hitters and pitchers. 3). If they play multiple pos just 100 their starting and range between 95-55 if applicable 25 for non position.

Save a default roster and create players on that so it works, our roster will mess up if you change names or create players in game. Has to be done in reditor unless its a default roster then you can create in game. Be aware of this!

Download media file, upload your roster file. Go to the download page and send Jmc the link in a PM. He can pull them off and transfer them to his file.

If we get all top 30 prospects for every team (most of which are already created.) We can fill the teams out and have players created on a file to swap when needed or remove fakes and replace with real players. Its just a way of sorting out and keeping prospect on file for later use.

I have been using reditor and have made quite a bit of progress on the prospects and other minor leaguers in the system already.

          Hey Guys,

I probably haven't posted on this board in a while but I honestly want to say thank you to the team that has made this all possible. Being able to play baseball on my X-Box is truly awesome to say the least. Even if it's a 4 year old game. The ability to do so with updated rosters is amazing and I can only appreciate what you guys have done. Bravo.

With that being said I've been working on something that deals with player attributes. While I wasn't busy articulating formulas for my fantasy baseball team I thought maybe I should try my hand at creating formulas for Player Ratings using player stats from the 2016 season.

So far I've come up with formidable equations for the following:

          Batting
          Against LH
          2B
          3B
          HR
          Against RH
          2B
          3B
          HR
          Eye vs. LH
          Eye vs. RH
          Bunting
          Drag Bunting

Currently, I'm approaching the Baserunning and Fielding stats and should be able to crack them tonight. In any case, once I finish developing the formulas I can always send a photo of what I've been working on.

I really just want to be a part of this community more and if I'm able to help in anyway I sure would love to be of assistance.

So here's a what I've mathematically come up with for Player Ratings. They aren't quite perfect yet but these are made from using loads and loads of data from Fangraphs (basically the best site ever for baseball stats).

Anyway, I've sort of cracked all of the fielding aspects and will probably tackle pitching this week. Let me know what you think.

P.S. The image is there you just have to Right Click and open it in a New Tab.

Maybe try this. These are stats from 2016 too because there hasn't been enough data from 2017 to make accurate ratings. Especially since there are currently 5 batters in the MLB that are hitting over .400, which is highly unlikely that they will stay there.

Sorry, something actually messed up my data. Some of these numbers are way wrong.

Post back like a Google document/spreadsheet when you get everything figured out. Thanks.

Will do. Getting these numbers down to a science is difficult. Most of the ratings for certain categories make sense but then some don't translate that well. For example here's a formula I did to rate HR for players:

                      =((HR%*1000)/5.8)+30

The HR% is calculated by dividing the amount of HR a player has by their number of hits. Basically, HR% is how many of their hits end up being an HR.

The number 5.8 was created by taking the difference between the highest HR% and lowest HR% and dividing it by 69. The number 69 comes from subtracting the highest rating (99) by what I want the base number for the players to be. The base number is basically the lowest rating I believe a batter should have, which is 30.

Deep down the base number of 30 comes from the fact that there's a lot of pitchers from the stock game file that have a Contact of 27-29 and Power of 30-32. Sometimes batters hit 0 HR's in a season against certain handed pitching, which can also be said about pitchers who hit 0 HR's in season. So 30 sounds like a good base number for a batter who let's say hits 0 HR's against left-handed pitching all season.

That's more or a less a taste of what I've been up to in terms of formulas.

                        Update:

I just found a ratings calculator spread sheet that someone made for a 2015 roster. There's some good formulas in here and I can possibly piggy back my equations with there's. Their formula for contact is wonky because their contact against LH and RH is is a 1 or 2 point difference due to the fact that they didn't to LH/RH splits.

Good thing is I already have so the numbers for those splits will be as realistic as possible.

                        More in a bit.

Haven't looked at update yet. Regarding the Cubs the ratings on the site look pretty good. Although I am kinda confused cuz i saw some players twice. Not sure what exact ratings to go by.

That's definitely a great place to start. The ratings look solid across the board. Doesn't seem like any player is grossly over or underrated. Probably have to double check the pitchers pitch types and speeds. I saw a few just browsing my Mariners that were slightly off.

I think that site is a great way to get started and can provide a common ground for everyone's basis for rating players.
