If you are referring to the information about the file itself - page 1 / post 1. This is a PLAY NOW ONLY roster file - go to the other thread to get a FRANCHISE file - but note there are a number of things in both files that make them different. Other than that I'm not sure what you're asking. Thanks!

I got the rosters, but am wondering how you got the stats? Some of them seem to be last year’s all stars that are the top notch players, but I don’t understand Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakakis. Both are doing tremendous against lefties, yet both have low hitting against them. Freeman is hitting .314 against righties, which to me comes in at 84 and .385 against lefties, which is forsure a 99, because I don’t know that anyone is doing that well against one hand. I’m glad he atleast has a 90, but Albies having a 94 and Freeman with a 90 is just not accurate. Considering next to Max Scherzer, Freeman is the top player in the National League right now. When will new rosters be up?

You're right - they probably are not accurate. I don't have a formula - I have no specific pattern except I want star players to play better and much of what you see in this file is just the work of a couple/three people here who just love baseball and still provide something for a 5 year old game.

The file had some work done on it last year, so it's from last year. We're not even to the all star game yet so things can really change (have you noticed Goldshmidt's roller coaster ride the last couple weeks?).

Regarding new rosters - no idea. And don't expect much more than updated transactions and some missing MLB callups that need created.

If you want to run with that file and put hours into it, then please do. I appreciate your thoughts, but how you've framed & stated them is why many guys don't want to do this kind of thing because nothing is good enough. I have a file from MLB The Show 18 that I've grabbed from the OSFM team here. It's an amazing work with full 90-man rosters for each team. It's not perfect, but I'm working on a few things and then I'll start my Franchise. So I wouldn't expect anything more here outside of another file because I really don't want to put any work into a "play now" file that can't be used in any other mode.

Here's my suggestion: grab the file that jmc put together - update all the transactions and then provide YOUR edits to it and re-upload it here. THAT file is Franchise-ready, and you could show us your expertise in this by providing something for all of us to review and use.

          Thanks!

I didn’t mean to come off rude if I did, I actually really apprecaite the rosters, and some ratings are very good, I was just kinda curious. I would get a PS4 and the show, but I like the setup on Xbox so much better, also get along with players on there better. The show would literally be the only game I play, so I guess I’m just kinda tired of the same rosters on MLB 2K13 and wishing Xbox could do something. I have done the entire roster before, but this was only in 2015. It wasn’t a complete disaster, and there also is a modder on pc that posted roster updates on YouTube, but quit doing them. I have looked on rotowire, where it shows what they bat against righties and lefties, and also judges certain attributes and says if they’re poor, average, etc, but all are not on there, especially pitchers. My main issue is judging how good a pitcher’s certain pitch is and what their control is.

Also, does JMC’s have the glitch where you can’t create a player? I’m not sure if it’s from the modding or massive created players, but if I were to edit it, new players coming through like Ryan Rolison, Etc wouldn’t be able to be created. I was also thinking his file was older and may not have all the players. I haven’t used his before, just thought it was made before this one.

If I sent you a Franchise file, is it possible to just update some player’s appearances by copy & pasting them from your roster and resending it back?
                Just like:
                -Mike Trout
                -Jose Altuve
                -Nolan Arrenado
                -Carlos Correa
                -Gary Sanchez
                -JD Martinez
                -Greg Bird
                -Yoenis Cespedes
                -Yasiel Puig

+ the audio for “Bird” “Correa” and “Story”

I can’t get the REDitor II license and now I can’t play the generic version franchise since I saw your updates!

Any questions for jmc need to go here (in his thread):

As for the roster I have here in this thread, I would expect one more file (trade update) and that's about it. The forums here are pretty dead, and since the file for jmc needs many updates to start a franchise with, I'm guessing there isn't much interest in a group / team effort to take that file. jmc reached out to me to work on his, but I don't have the time or interest. Clearly you have pointed out things in the file that don't meet criteria, and I don't have any "formula" that I used - so with all that said, if anyone wants to take this on they can. I'm guessing that probably won't happen.

                  Thanks again!

Hi I've been keeping my franchise going since 2013 making all the transactions and editing the call ups of rookies the best I can. I had to reset a couple of years ago in order to control all 30 teams to keep the staff somewhat up-to-date. I simulated the first few years doing all the transactions and kept the player stats pretty close to accurate. I just learned about REDitor and can't get the license if anyone in the community can help I have a few questions...

                    1. Does anyone know the last time Vlad gave out a license? I've sent a few emails.

                    2. Is it impossible to make even the most basic edits on REDitor without a license? (My Xbox keeps telling me the .ROS file is "corrupt or unreadable")

                    3. If you obtain the GURU license is it possible to edit an active franchises roster?

                    4. Would it be easier to just spend the $400 and buy a PS4 and The Show? (I found the exact program I need in REDitor to keep my franchise going and would rather keep the stats for the created players)

I just wanted to check in and let everyone know that the roster that had been provided here on page 1 / post 1 a week or two ago is the FINAL roster file to be provided. I am no longer working on it and will no longer be doing any updates. This file is only usable for "play now / exhibition" games and is unable to be used for any other mode as it will freeze on you as being corrupted. (jmc has another file to use).

I have moved on to the PS4, and have purchased MLB The Show 18 (as well as 17 & 16). That game is simply phenomenal - possibly THE greatest sports video game I've ever played in my entire life - lighting, options, gameplay - just the whole package is beautiful. There are also tons of classic / historical files that are well done and will give endless gameplay. If you have the means and are a baseball diehard - I cannot recommend to you enough to make the switch to that console and get those games.

So I wanted to say thank you for all that's been done here on this roster file that goes back 6 years. A number of you were great to swap ideas with and help. I hope that you guys can get with jmc and keep that game alive. His file would be a GREAT one to work on and it could use some collective efforts to revise the ratings updates and get all the transactions in compliance. There just never seemed to be much desire on collaborative efforts, and that mainly fell on a small handful. As much as I love 2K13, after playing MLBTS, it just can't hold a candle to it (in my opinion - especially when I'm playing games from the 70's to 00's - the memories of those players). I'm pretty close to releasing a slider set there that has much of the feel of what we've done here with 2K13.

So thanks again and the last several years have been fun keeping this game alive! Mike

All the best and thank you for your years of effort. Coming from the NHL side of the community, I know how much effort goes into making rosters. Eventually, everyone updates. Thank you for your contributions and enjoy MLBTS. If I had a playstation, I'd be playing that more as well.

Me neither... technology (of any kind) frightens me as I'm a "late adapter." But man - MLB The Show is just flat out amazing. The immersion - player models - how they let you export & import players - it's unreal. The full 1995 25-man rosters just dropped in the vault last night. I spent an additional 2 hours taking screen shots of my 2K11 file from that year and updating some things and making my Indians have the full 40 man rosters. What we've done here with 2K is great, and I'm grateful for it. But I don't know if I'll ever pick it up again as I have a TON of historical roster sets for MLBTS 16, 17 & 18. Since I've devoted so much of my time here to 2K, I think I've earned the right to say this: if you can afford a PS4, you MUST get The Show. The visuals and gameplay are a thing of beauty. Years of historical files (with jersey options) will allow me to play this thing to death and it will never get old...

You’ve probably said this before, but what program(s) did you use to edit MLB2k13 rosters, player appearances and player stats? REDitor .ROS files are “corrupt or unreadable” when I try to transfer them back to the XBox. Can not figure it out !!!
