Jistic's MLB 2K6 Custom Sliders (Xbox)

Well this is my first ever slider post for MLB 2K6. I'm sure there will be some tweaks but I'm pretty happy with these as a start. Play a few games with these as I've had some very different results from game to game.

Looks good Jistic.. Question are you starting these Sliders from the Custom Setting? If so how are the Fielder Arm Strength's. Thanks.

EDIT: Just realized these are for the XBOX....

I think I started them from All Star, but can't be 100% sure.

Have to tell you the sliders you did for 2k6 NBA were perfect! Want to try these, the only thing is I love swing stick any chance you will do a set with this? Do you think these will work well w/ swing stick?

I would say it could work with it. I'm going to find out right now.

Nice! I'll give these a try in a bit and post back with some results. I'm glad these are for Classing hitting. I'm not that impressed with the swing stick yet.

Re: Jistic's MLB 2K6 Custom Sliders (Xbox)

I'll have to play another couple games with these sliders to get a real good gauge of how they play, but my first game was a little concerning.

              Phillies (me) vs. Rockies

              12 21 0
              7 15 3 was the line.

I threw 74 pitches through 6 2/3 while Jennings through 65 through 5. Mainly because I was taking alot was the reason for his slightly high count.

I gave up 19 hits with Lieber, and I really can't say that my pitching was all that bad. I thought I was hitting my spots well for the most part. It just seemed like the Rockies bats were hot, knocked a few out of the park, had a few errors, and it was downhill from there.

In total I earned 1 BB from jennings, and 3 from Jose Mesa who I really worked on his pitch count by getting a few lucky foul balls.

              I'll play another game later.

Thanks for doing the research and posting these, Jistic. I'm going to give them a try for 360.

I have a question on your batting approach. Using Classic, do you move the left stick toward where the ball is pitched, or just leave it centered? The reason I ask is I'm seeing a lot of singles but not much power and nothing close to a home run yet. That may be because my team doesn't really have many power hitters, though. But I just wanted to make sure I'm using the same approach so these sliders work the best they can. Thanks.

hold the left stick up to improve your chances of HR's

Re: Jistic's MLB 2K6 Custom Sliders (Xbox)

I've noticed that when you move the stick, it's mainly only helps if that's where the pitch is. IE if the pitch is inside on a right handed batter, move the stick right. It doesn't seem to help with fly balls IMO, but I've played very little with the classic swing approach.

Second game, completely different results. This time I used the Classic Swing method.

                      Marlins (me) vs. Brewers

It was a pitchers duel, Willis went 7 2/3 and Sheets went 8. Willis gave up 9 hits and had 8 Ks, Sheets K'd me 7 times and I was only able to must 4 hits. He threw 80 pitches, so about ten per inning. While Willis was at 92 and completely drained. It might be a good idea to beef up the user pitching fatigue, and I don't even have it as low as Jistic does.

I am also playing with the strike zone off and the pitching interface around 72 or so.

Their were zero doubles, and one triple but that was because of a misplay on defense on my part (from what I remember).

                      The box score was: 0 5 1
                      3 9 0

I'll definitely play a few more games. Maybe the Swing Stick/Classic Swing does make a difference, or maybe it was just playing with the Marlins that cooled my bat (I had more hits with Willis than I did with my leadoff hitter).

It was a fun game though. Pitchers duel through 6 innings until I gave up a couple in the 7th. I had the bases loaded in the 8th with Cabrera at the plate and just missed a HR. I just hit A without pressing up for any HR help, and I had a looong fly ball.

We're you at Coors field? It's funny cuz I have had 0-0 games going into extra innings with these, as well as slug fests at Wrigley when the wind blows out. Let's see how your future games go.

Yeah I don't use the swing stick or the strike zone on so your mileage may vary. I would also play more before messing with fatigue. I've done a complete game with Glendon freaking Rusch so play a few more.

Thanks.
My approach depends on the batter. If I see cheese up, then I'll push up on the stick and go for it, that usually means foul balls, or a homer for a bigger hitter or hopefully a gapper for a lighter hitter.

If I'm down two striked I don't even mess with it, just time the pitch and hit the button w/o even touching the L Thumb Stick. I may 'go with the pictch' the other way if down two strkes as well.

Played my first game with these sliders. Major pitcher's duel between the Red's (me) vs the Pirates (cpu).

                              Boxscore
                              Reds 1R 4H 0E
                              Bucs 0R 3H 1E

                              Pitching Line:
                              Reds - Eric Milton 9IP, 3H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 6K

                              Bucs - O. Perez 8.2IP, 4H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 7K
                              - Ian Snell 0.1IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 0K

For some reason the cpu took O. Perez out of the game with only 1 out left after pitching a gem of a game and showing no signs of letting up on the last out. There was a great cut scene of the fans cheering Perez's performance, and Perez came out of the dugout and tipped his cap. Nice touch! I could'nt get a hit to save my life. Almost all of my offensive damage was done in the first inning with Griffey getting a sac fly rbi. That was the only run needed to win the game. I came close to hitting one out with Adam Dunn though.

I think the human pitcher stamina may be a little high. I was putting a lot of effort on the pitches and still had almost 30% going into the 9th, while the cpu pitcher was down around 12%. Still could'nt hit him though. Will play another game and see how it goes.
