Does anyone have realistic sliders for 2k4?

My Xbox bit the dust today and I purchased another one. However, I had a decent set of sliders for All-Star and Legend that are gone. If anyone has a decent set please share! Also, check out my roster set in the rosters thread.

    Thanks!

Yes I do. However, I'm on vacation and don't have my Xbox with me. I could be able to tell you in about a week if you remind me again.

Remember... I haven't played this game, really, since MLB 2K5 came out. Maybe they're not as good as I thought that they once were. Maybe they are. But, if this means anything, my Giants franchise that I had in my second year was at a record of 59 - 41. Here was my lineup (with averages, home runs, and RBI's):

              1. Ray Durham - .273, 8, 46
              2. Johnny Damon - .275, 7, 39
              3. Pedro Feliz - .264, 27, 69
              4. Craig Wilson - .259, 20, 62
              5. Jose Valentin - .308, 21, 56
              6. Lyle Overbay - .327, 8, 37
              7. A.J. Pierzynski - .280, 6, 28
              8. Dustan Mohr - .257, 8, 32
              9. Pitcher

              Bench:

              Quinton McCracken - .266, 0, 2
              Jeff David - .295, 6, 18
              Troy O'Leary - .264, 1, 6
              Cody Ransom - .250, 1, 7
              Trey Lunsford - .295, 2, 6
              Luke Allen - .275, 1, 4

              My pitching staff was:

              Jason Schmidt
              Freddy Garcia
              Jerome Williams
              Tim Wakefield
              Ryan Jensen

I also had Noah Lowry, Antonio Alfonseca, and Robb Nen in the bullpen.

So, if that kind of team can give me a 59 - 41 record, then I guess my sliders are decent. If not, then... maybe not.

My GM overall record says that I'm an overall 153 - 109 record, meaning I went 94 - 68 the year before. Of course, I also had Bonds that year.

Alright, there you go. Good luck!

Re: Does anyone have realistic sliders for 2k4?

I think my main issue was too low of batting averages. Perhaps if you raise the Power sliders for both Human and AI, and if you lower the Corner slider for the AI Pitching, maybe you'll get better results.

But remember... don't swing at everything. Take pitches that are balls.

Blzer, I admit I was a bit skeptical with the difficulty set to "Pro", but man, these are great sliders! Very realistic and the AI is tough! Very nice and highly recommended!

So far, I have played 4 games using Blzer's "Pro" sliders and the results have been astounding! I'm 1-3 so far, including an 8-1 spanking! This is a VERY realistic set guys. The key here is that it generates accurate pitch counts and the AI will sit on mistakes and crush them. If you mix your pitches effectively, however, you'll get a good number of called third strikes. You also need to be patient at the plate as you'll get ample opportunities to draw walks. The variety is good as well. In three of the games I had 8 or fewer hits. One game, I had 11. And, while I'm a cursor guy, the "True Aim" works very well with "Real" pitch speed here. Again, Blzer, great job here!

If I remember correctly BigfnJoe had amazing sliders for 2k4. Unfortunately I've also purchased a new Xbox in the past year so I lost the sliders.

I'll give these a try out tonight. I just played an exhibition game w. the Yanks against the Mets. I'll pop in one of the slider recommendations from this thread and start up a 7-game series. I swear that is the only thing missing from MVP, the ability to play tournaments.

Maybe I will try those again. I remember giving them a go a few weeks ago and I struck out way too many guys looking. It was literally one after another. Maybe the rest of the set, besides those particular ones are ok.

Re: Does anyone have realistic sliders for 2k4?

So I started that 7 game series against the Mets last night with the Yanks and Blzr's sliders.

I beat them 1-0 (Moose vs. Pedro) when Abreu had an RBI double in the bottom of the 7th. I had 11 hits and zero errors, the Mets had 9 hits and zero errors.

I feel like the contact might need to be up a little higher, all 20 hits were singles cept for Abreu's double and most were bloopers. Moose is a good pitcher, but isn't that dominant that he's gonna completely shut down the Mets like that.
