Pro based Custom Sliders - Classic Swing

Here are my sliders based on the Pro sliders for the game and using the Custom Swing. I went from a game with the Sox hitting 8 HR to hitting 1 HR (walk off by Big Papi to beat the Blue Jays in 10 in a 1-0 game that featured a total of 10 hits 1 error and 2 walks.)

    AI Meat Pitch: 40

These settings addressed the following issues for me:

    1. I HATE speed burst, and the dive controls are relatively flakey in terms of their speed for the dive animations. So these settings make it so your guys get a good jump on the ball and don't have to worry about diving while still allowing the AI to hit to the gaps and get 2B and even the appropriately infrequent 3B.

    2. The AI Pitching was grooving too many strikes on 3-1 and 3-2 and 2-0. The pitching settings will help you get some walks while giving the AI the ability to get walks if you aren't pitching to them. I still don't see as many walks as you'd see in a regular game, but it's a step in the right direction for only having the game 6 hours.

    3. The AI Pitchers could go all game at their fatigue rate. At this rate if the AI keeps its pitcher on the mound into the 7th and 8th inning and you've been even moderately patient at the plate...they'll be in the 40% range and you'll start bombing them.

    4. Stealing bases was too easy so I adjusted to make it a little more challenging by making stealing less frequent and improving the AI catcher's arm rating.

    5. The power ratings are there because while I don't like speed burst, I think guys really do "swing for the fences" and the game seemed to have a pretty good risk vs. reward system already built in. This just helps keep it under control...

Keep in mind that these are a first draft to address the issues here and a few smaller ones I've found. Please make suggestions as you see fit and I'll modify accordingly. These can hopefully help you out until the REAL slider guys get theirs posted (I look forward to them as well!!!).

I'll try these out once I finish my current game.

Re: Pro based Custom Sliders - Classic Swing

I played another 5 games with these sliders that went:

      BOS - 8
      STL - 6

      BOS - 4
      NYY - 5

DET - 2 (won in the bottom of the 10th)
      CHW - 1

      DET - 5
      CLE - 3

      FLA - 4
      ATL - 6

The hit totals were pretty reasonable with the AI able to get off some decent steals and move the ball appropriately.

In fact, in the DET v CHW game the White Sox got a leadoff hit. Then advanced the runner on a sac bunt. Then got a deep fly ball in which the man on 2nd tagged and made to third. The next guy up got a little blooper single and that tied the game.

As advertised once your pitcher gets to about 55% or less the AI will start shelling them. I had that happen with Schilling v. the Yankees.

HR totals are still a smidge high so I'm going to adjust the Hitting Power tonight to test it out. I think I hit at least 2 HR in every game I played with the exception of the DET v CHW & the DET v CLE game.

I was able to steal and the runner was caught stealing. You actually have to pay attention to your steal timing so I was pretty happy with that. I drew about 1 walk a game. Still low, but not 0. I think with better plate patience that'll change.

      Anyone have any other feedback?

I'm thinking about checking these out,my only concern would be that I use the stick and trying to find the right balance.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.
