I think the AI Corner slider is backwards
I was getting tired of the CPU pitcher throwing down and away to RH batters so I lowered the corner slider to 40 but I realized after a week that maybe it was worse. I am in the middle of a game as I type this, 2nd inning and I adjusted the slider to 15.. still hitting the corner. So I decided I am just eliminating this by putting it on zero. Now take note that I very rarely draw a walk, but after putting it to 0 I have been walked 3 batters in a row. Most pitches going to the corner.

Re: I think the AI Corner slider is backwards
My personal feeling is that the individual pitchers ratings seem to have much more of an effect than the actual slider. I am currently toying around with much lower levels and I seem to be getting greater pitch variety. I'm around 25 in AI Corner at the moment.
I don't think it is backwards, though nothing is impossible. -

Yeah, you're probably right , its probably not backwards but I don't really see a difference from 0 to 100. It could have been the pitchers too... hard to say really. I did end up with 5 walks that inning and like I said, I never draw walks.
Checking my VIP for walk ratio and its:
In 29 games so far, I have 13 walks
or
79.2 at bats per walk.Gamertags

Re: I think the AI Corner slider is backwards
I agree with you both lol.
Just noticed this also, was getting tired of the "way off the plate" pitches. So I lowered it to 0, there's still pitches off the plate, but in lesser quantity. And the pitch locations are more varied at 0.
Then I put it to 75 and didn't notice that much a difference. I think it has more to do with the pitcher and his capability to control pitch movement/hit corners than anything else. The Ai corner seems to have very very little effect. I'd say Pitcher Attributes + your Pitcher throw strikes sliders have a much greater influence.Comment

Re: I think the AI Corner slider is backwards
I don't think its backward, i just think people over emphasized the amount they thought the pitcher should throw to the corners. By increasing the value above 50 obviously the AI pitcher is going to throw to the corners 50% of the time. Add that to where the pitchers tries to throw to your cold zones. And you get pitchers throwing to only a few locations.
However i do think that it needs to be lowered. I have it at about 30 and i like the variety of pitch location i'm getting right now.Comment
