Is this game even playable at default levels?

Is anyone even playing at the default levels in this game at all? Sometime i enjoy playing at the default levels in a sports game b/c it makes me feel like I am actually playing against the CPU instead of playing against myself in essence whn I'm constantly changing sliders.

Anyway, I think the game has far too many issues at the default levels to be even playable but is anyone out here having good games with these?

Im playing on allstar at default levels. Im 0-12 overall, but im having fun reguardless. I cant seem to quite get over the hump. Ill hang in for most of the game with Contrares, Buehrle and Garland until the 6th, 7th or 8th when ill have a horrendous inning and give up 4 or 5 runs to put it out of reach. With Vazquez and Mulder (signed as FA) I tend to get behind early and cant catch up. Im too stuborn to play on pro btw.

When I get sick of inputting people's slider sets and then not liking the result, I often go back to All-Star default, where I have competitive games but both teams are blasting and robbing home runs left and right and I never walk anyone. So then I start looking at slider sets again, and get sick of that, and... you get the picture. It's a vicious cycle.

Man after three weeks of reading these threads and trying different sliders and slider sets, my head is spinning and I give up. My main problem with the sliders in this game is that there are too many moving parts... all these knobs that pertain to hitting but you need the help of a Talmudic scholar to put them into any understandable and effective kind of practice. I'd love a simple silder that just says "hit less home runs" and then the game does what it needs to do behind the scenes to make that happen. I don't have the time to really log enough hours for a large enough sample size for a given slider set, especially when it seems more like work than play.

I broke down and bought a competing baseball game (which shall remain nameless) and was shocked... SHOCKED I tell you to find foul balls, unintentional user walks, and my struggling pitcher throwing 100 pitches by the fifth inning, all OUT OF THE BOX! Also some crappy framerates, but the positives outweigh the negatives.

It was hard for me to part with 2K7 because it's like a marvelous visual tour of all that's beautiful in baseball. But if it's going to be a homerun fest next year, I apparently need the tools to be dumbed down a bit for me to fix it. Not proud of it, just saying.
