These are obviously a combination of many others on here! I have taken a ton from Heel and just gradually worked them to my liking. The game right now is the best I have had it. I do use the Yankees so I am winning a little too much, but most of my games are decided very late in the games! The only thing I complain about is My clutch hitting! I seem to get many game winning or late clutch hits? Again the NYY may have something to do with this. My record with these currently is 22-11, I have played every game so far. I did not keep any box scores to show you but I have had very FEW blowouts by me and I have been blown out 1 or 2 times by the cpu too! I think I have seen everything and anything that may happen in a given baseball game which is the key for me with these. Anyways feedback is fine each of us are at different levels so I do not expect everyone to get the same great results I've had! This is with payoff pitch by the way.

I have a question for you, with contact at 40 for the human are you still striking out a realistic amount of times?

Played last night me(Nyy) vs. Bos in Fenway game 2 of 3, anyways Wakefield went into the 9th giving up 4 hits and had 14K's!! I could not hit that damn thing(knuckle). So yes, actually that was the first loss in 7 games for me but I got blown out 12-2(2run hr by Arod in 1st) Wakefield would have gone the distance but got hurt before the 2nd out. I gave up 12 runs on 19 hits!! Pavano got shelled!

But vs. normal pitchers I still K atleast 7+ times probably more like 10+. With it at 40 I see a wider variety of hits.

I think he had thrown 89 pitches before he got hurt, I obviously got even more impatient late when the game was decided.

I played one game so far with the contact at 40 for the human and went 12/37 batting .324 for the game and I won 11-3. I hit 5 homeruns, none of them felt cheap in anyway though, all of them came on guessing where the pitch was using the hitters eye, two of them werent even used by pressing up on the analog. Normally this would alarm me but it was against Juan Cruz in Arizona and every pitcher they trotted out there had a horrible era so it made sense that they would struggle. Almost forgot, I did strike out 11 times and walked twice.

Not counting intentional walks to cano or giambi I would say I get 2-4 walks a game on avg. The more tired I am late at night the less patient I am so then less walks and more k's!

Well the contact doesnt seem too far out there, how many homeruns are you hitting with the power at 30? I have it currently at 0 and am in the middle of the pack in homeruns which is to be expected with the Dodgers but the one thing that annoys me is the constant bleeders in the infield, basically if Juan Pierre doesnt hit it in the perfect spot it will be far too slow to even get through the infield and its an easy out. I would like to fix this but not if my homeruns are going to go through the roof after that.

Its funny, Ive been using Heels and did some slight tweaks and suddenly I cant pitch to save my life, my team era has jumped from sub 3 to nearly 4.5 and my pen is awful. Im going to have to tweak some things to correct this, having the 8th best pitching staff in the majors per the ratings but getting blown up constantly is getting annoying.

Hey I don't know how good you are or aren't but I am 38yrs old and me and my buddies have been hooking it up since the 80's -70's for me, and messing with sliders since I don't know when. I have it set at 30 and to tell you the truth this is the best I have had it with any sports game! I like the power shots in the alley's-down the lines etc.... I go to work and think about this game! Sad I know but it feels so real to me. I have stollen from everyone on here namely Heel and I think these are the best.
To answer your question I hit such a variety it is hard to answer! I went the last 2 without any hr's, then went crazy with 4! I have to tell you that I don't use the L stick "UP" very much! I do use it to pull either righty or lefty. I use it "UP" for Giambi mostly on my team and once in a while with Rodriguez. I think it is perfect! If it's a 0-2 count and 2 outs with nobody on base I will use the L with most of my guy's!(yanks) since they all have some power. It all depends on the count for me and the situation. I do find that with Giambi He hits alot of long drives but not all HR's. He has 14 (4th in league) after 30 games! I know it's not realistic because if you do the math its something like 70 hr's over a full season. Manny leads my league with 20 though? So I am 6 off his pace. Arod has 12 then jeter with 8 and abreu with 7. The rest have 4 or more. I do hit hr's without using the stick at all.

With it at 30 I just seem to get the realistic base hits though so for ME it does not seem out of whack? I can't put this game down. In the begining I felt like I was hitting most of my hr's with the L stick up to the left right or straight up, but now I do not get most of them that way. Sorry for such a long drawn out answer but if you try them you will see I guess. I think after a few games you will like them. I HATE it at 0, I tried it for 5 games and just hated it. I see people on here talking about not getting K's( I used too not) and walks, foul balls etc... I get TON'S with these! My pitchers tire correctly as do the cpu's. You might be much better than me though so its hard to say right?

I am going to check my sliders to make sure I have not touched any. I think they are up to date as listed. Only thing's I have been messing with is AI skill. I just lost 4 in a row to bos recently so that for me atleast was very cool. (pissed me off too)

Thanks for the quick replies, Im probably just going to borrow some ideas to incorporate into my own sliders, if that doesnt work then I may just change them altogther and give them a shot. My current settings are good for the most part, only areas to address are adding a little more pop to my hits, dont mean more homeruns though, and believe it or not I need to get my pitching a little better so Im not giving up 4-9 runs a game. Thanks again for your input in regards to sliders and this game.

Re: My sliders: Try them out!(classic)

I just played a game with these sliders

Braves (me) 3 runs 7 hits 2 errors
                    Phillies 7 runs 15 hits 0 errors

Overall this was a very fun and challenging game, the phillies really hit well off of me, and they should have, because I was pitching like crap, and it showed up in the box score. I tried to be patient while hitting, but I may have been a little bit too patient.I struck out quite a bit, but I felt that was more my fault than the sliders. The one problem I had was that 4 of my 7 hits were doubles, so I hope it doesn't turn into me hitting either a double or a HR for all of my hits.

The other 3 hits were 2 singles and a 2-run HR by chipper (meat pitch right in the heart of the plate).

I'll play a few more games and hope that there is more of a hit variety, but overall this was probably the most fun i've had playing this game so far.

I had a couple of games were it felt like I was getting too many doubles too! I don't nearly as much now though? I think adjusting the baserunner speed and aggressivness would help as well as the cpu throwing aggression! I do get most of my doubles with aggressive guys like abreu and damon so that seems realistic. Atleast I am not getting them with posada and giambi! cpu outfielder speed up 5 might help too?

Quick question, more of a general question in fact. Im having a heck of a time pitching with the settings Im using, should I drop AI Contact 5 so they arent hitting as many pitches and could possibly increase strikeouts also or drop the Pitcher Interface Speed to 90 so Im not missing my spot so many times, when I miss it the computer seems to just rake the ball. Like I said, its more of a general question but I figured you could give me some insight since you have messed with sliders a lot more then I have this year.

I think I would drop the interface speed before I would mess with AI contact! Maybe drop AI skill or raise AI pitcher difficulty!

Thanks, I have their contact at 50 and when I dropped it to 45 even, the CPU scored 1 run and couldnt get anything done offensively, your suggestion seems more logical for what my problem is. Thanks again.

I would say you may be a bit better than me, I have cpu contact at 40-45(?) and I am starting to get beat on a regular basis. Any higher for me and I get zero K's, especially the swinging K.
