    Re: Curbing Hrs

I do like the idea of dropping the arm strength slider across the board, I know that was one of my gripes when the game came out - that while the rocket arm is "better" it is still "there."

I did try dropping "strength" by 20 across the whole team and lowered running speed by 20 as well.........my issue now is that Frank Thomas logged not one, but two triples against the Tigers.....

What this means is that now I must make a decision - stick with the sliders that were working very, very well for me and simply accept the "guns" from the OF, or re-work the set so it balances and makes a great game again.....

Hopefully, if there is a patch, the arms are addressed, as doing the "drop" thru every team would simply take too long.

Ya I am having some issues with the armstrength slider. I did a test and put a whole outfield with an arm strength of 0 and I was still throwing the ball from the OF fence to homeplate. Granted, the throw was a rainbow, but it rolled from the infield all the way to home plate. I think the throwing mechanism in the game is screwed up and sliders wont really help. Throws will eventually make it to any base you throw to, whether they bounce once or twice or roll there. Its kind of silly. Even when I brought the arm strength slider down only 15-20 units, I was still getting lollipop throws and if I put the main throw speed slider up to the default 50, I am back to where I was if the throw speed slider was at 0.

The arm accuracy slider is very sensitive and I dont mind adjusting that but I am not sure what reduction is needed. I initially reduced by 15 and it seemed every throw was off.. I am thinking 5-10 reduction would help.

As far as the HR against slider.. well I took some of the top pitchers in the game and increased the HR against slider to the max and used the REd Sox against them. I was still hitting bombs more frequently than I think is realistic and that is with power swing influence and hitter power set at zero.

I think the power swing mechanism is flawed and there isnt any slider that will help this unless you reduce the individual HR slider setting on every player. Doing this though may screw up CPU vs CPU generated stats. I dont know. In any event after fooling around with these sliders, I have become more frustrated. I am going to leave ratings as is and just use sliders that have produced a somewhat realistic game..

I think 2K could put out a roster update with a reduction in HR, arm strength, and accuracy. Should be an easy fix for them no doubt.
