    Highheat's final sliders.

Thanks goes out to nnng, X-cell, Dan, and others on providing my final set. I've taken variations of all and have settled on these below. Hopefully someone will find a good balance and game that they are looking for with these.

My House Rules for Batting: (Swing Stick)

-Can only use power swing when the AI throws a meat pitch at anytime (Even 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 counts). That's the only time I allow myself to press up on the swing stick. The rest of the time it must be pull and release tactic.
    - Must wait until the AI throws one strike in the count to swing, unless it's a meat pitch as stated above. I've had 2 so far that the CPU didn't throw down the gut on 3-0, it is rare though, then I do will not swing. This works the pitcher's pitch total. I had Rich Harden of the A's throw 102 pitches in 7 1/3 innings in one game that was a 6-3 loss, and Kenny Rogers throw 108 today in 8 1/3 innings in a 3-1 loss to the Tigers.

My House Rules for Pitching: (I use Zone Pitching 1)

Zone or Payoff pitching - ***** I now use a deck of cards to determine my every pitch. Sounds crazy, but adds intriging situations to the game. Ex: I have 4 pitches available in a clockwise position, (fastball, slider, change up, and curve) an ace, 5, 9, or King would culminate in a fastball, a 2, 6, 10, or Joker would culminate in the slider and so on. I know it's cheesy, but I do this now to keep me from throwing the same pitch all the time in certain situations. I still select my own location and it adds to the challenge of pitching for me. I know I'll take some ribbing for this one.

-only one pickoff attempt per at bat, I've actually gotten a couple with diveback at 100.

Starters can go as long as they want unless they give up either of the following:

-5 earned runs (not total runs) and I trail by 2 or more runs at the time my pitcher gives up the 5th earned run. If not losing by 2 or more runs, can continue until that point is reached or the following below:
    -10 hits
-tied or losing after 7th inning
-30% fatigue(must conclude batter then pull unless you are winning and throwing a shutout)
-after one of the above, I must take him out at least at the end of that inning and bring in a reliever either at that moment or the beginning of the next inning.

Relievers can go a maximum of 3 innings for long relievers and 2 innings for middle, setups and closers, or one of the following:

-3 earned runs or 6 hits for long relievers
-2 earned runs or 5 hits for middle, setups, and closers
-after one of the above, I must take him out at least at the end of the inning and bring in a new pitcher. Make sure you have another pitcher warming up.

LOL highheat I was just about to make a change to my sliders that said use AI Power at 50 for Zone and 55 for payoff, but I happened to just click your thread first and saw you said the same thing. Guess we are thinking alike. Also are you using swing or classic?

I love using the swing stick, there were a few times I used the classic, liked it at first, but then I hit nothing but doubles in the gap, homers, and up the gut singles, nothing down the lines or into right/left field with it, so I'm back to swing stick to stay, but I think the contact and power needs dropped in order to get a more of a variety of hits with it. I was checking Papi's sliders out, and he has contact at 5, power at 0, with pitch speed of 100, that's insane if you ask me, but people there say the hit variety is great and they are still hitting homers. I'd like to know how, but I use the O's. I dropped it down to 10 for contact and 10 for power, and also 10 for power swing with yours and it seemed to work well, so I think I'm going to do it for mine as well. He also has CPU contact at 65 and power at 50, I played one game for the hell of it, actually struck out the AI 3 times with Loewen using Zone Pitching and I must say the hit variety is really good for the AI, best I've seen yet. I think for our level though, I'll make it 55/50 and see where it goes.

I think I've finally got it boys, I've played 3 games so far today with the sliders above and am having a very realistic experience. The AI hit variety is great and I can still strike out 4-6 a game.

I think I'll take a pass on the house rules but I'll give these sliders a try.

Let me know how you like them, please if possible play more than one game with them. Raised AI run aggression to 75.

                  Re: Highheat's final sliders.

Highheat , I see that someone else agress with my pitch speed of 85. Ive been trying to tell people that 85 atleast is the best choice, but some dont seem to agree, but many that I play with online love it. What was the highest u put contact at with the swing stick. I just started using it, and for the heck of it put it at 90 and so alot of different things including pop ups behind homeplate. All different kind of hits and outs. Just need to know how high u went and how low. I went as low as 5 but that was with classic mode hitting. But noticed that the lower I went with contact the more my hits were either hrs and solid gappers, and for the hec of it went as high as a 100 and saw so much more. Holla back and let me know what u messed with.

                  Thanks

I've gone as high as 30, I'd love to go higher as it seems it would really distribute the hit variety, but on the flipside, I don't want 20+ hits a game and not ever strikeout. How many hits and strikeouts do you get with contact that high?

Trust me if u have the pitching where it is challenging for u , u will strike out. I stirke out about 6 to 9 times, but I do have a very good eye, and pitch speed is at 85. I didnt get 20 hits at all, but again im new at hit stick but i'am making alot of contact. So far Im 1-3 with the new set up, and im doing a franchise with both the yankees and D-backs. Just prior to this is was 32-4 , and killing the cpu and contact was anywhere from 5-25 (Classic mode). The thing im loving and again im new with the hit stick but 0 hrs with the Yankees in 2 games and 2 with the D backs, prior to this it was about 5 to 8 Hr's a game easy(Classic mode), and that was with only power swinging when the cpu through a meat pitch or in my hitters eye. I had 0 for every thing but contact and was getting a ton of hr's. Very unsatisfying.

Im doing some very interesting things with the cpu sliders on the Ai side, if your interested ill let u know, but the stirke outs a lower now but the games are more challenging. Holla back homie.

Jake what I meant was Im going to go to swing stick now and come up with a set of sliders that I like for Swing Stick, this way I will have a set that I'm happy with for both Classic and Swing. I think my Classic sliders are playing excellent right now and there won't be a need for many changes with those.
