Interesting formula on AI sliders for hitting

Anyone play the game on the default allstar level and felt it was to hard and then played it on Pro and found it to easy. well I took both sliders settings and figure out what the difference was and saw something interesting. I only played a few games with it , but had solid games.
Anyways try them out and see how it turns out. These sliders are only for AI hitting. I feel the 1st 2 pages of slider are all preference and u need to set it according to your skill level. These are just for AI hitting.
1 house rule that I use is I turn off hitters eye and place it way out of the strike zone and once the pitcher is in his whind up I release the stick and hit as normal. I want to use my eye for hitting not use a feature, but thats my choice it doesnt have to be yours.

    Player Option
    "Your preference"
If you want to see what im using let me know and ill send it to u

    A.I. General Options
    "Your preference"
If you want to see what im using let me know and ill send it to u

    A.I. Batting Options

    AI Batters use Inside Edge:ON
    Take strike overall-35
    Take strike ahead-35
    Take strike behind-35
    Take ball overall-35
    Take ball ahead-35
    Take ball behind-35

    AI Contact: 55
    AI Power: 55
    Bunt for Hit: 35
    Pitcher Difficulty: 35
    Pitcher Effectiveness Mod: 55

    AI Pitching Options
"Your Preference also" , But im messing with this right now to see if I get a 50 50 kind of pitching pattern. I want things to be very unpredictable, and i figure i share this also so u can give me feedback.

    Pitchers use Inside Edge: ON
    Corner: 50
    Change Speed: 50
    Throw Strike Overall: 50
    Throw Strike Ahead: 50
    Throw Strike Behind: 50
    Pitcher Fatigue: 50
    Pickoff: 50
    Pitchout: 50
    Meat Pitch: 35

OK just give a try and let me know how it unfolds. Im curious to see how it does with others using it. Thx u.

Why don't you just not click the L stick that brings up the hitters eye ? Don't see the purpose of turning it off, then moving it out of the strike zone, then letting go of the stick ?

It doesnt bother me at all doing that. Im use to it. I dont want the hitters eye at all involved in any of my games, and I found this to be the best way, but this is just something that I do , and in no way telling anyone else to do it. everyone has thier own way of playing and should stick to what makes it fun for them.

Yea I know, I just dont want it at all telling me when a strike is coming or its location. I want to just use my eye to reconize good or bad pitches or when Iam looking for a pitch in a particular spot.

Looks like it would be very difficult to walk opposing batters with the take sliders so low. I have take ball around 80 and they still whack away at junk.

I had walks but I dont know what your looking for as for how many and I dont know your pitchng style, but I have had hitters walk, hitter swing aggressively, swing patiently, all kinds of things. It varies from game to game, and at times at bats also. I had a hitter patient at the plate and smack a solid HR, and then later on swing at the 1st pitch to ground out, but im cool with that cause I dont want any patterns in the game.

Cool , I also only allow one power swing every at bat, so if I waste it I just contact swing, and even with that u can smack a HR it just isnt as often as when u power swing.

FYI (if you didn't know), there is a slider called "meat pitch".......if you turn that to zero, you won't get any of those ball icons flash up on the screen when the cpu throws a fat pitch.

I knew that but never really put any thought into it. With those I just contact swing and what ever happens happens, but Im going to take your advice and just turn it to zero.

Actually pretty good. A friend of mine and I were pretty much giving up on the game with how the AI played. Either to hard or to easy, but with these its pretty good. We feel that we found that happy medium ,but U have to have some house rules, and the one that we use that turns out to be a real big deal in having good games is not using the hitters eye at ALL. Since we did that with the sliders the games have been more competitive. He uses the MEts and I use the Yankees, but prior to this he was 25-4, since he used these setup with a new season he is now 4-3, so he is alot more happy.

I use the Yankees and the D-back. With the Yankees Im 5-2 and the D-Backs 4-4, Prior to this I was 32-2 with the Yanks and 24-10 with the D-Backs, and the box scores varied. He had one blow out with the Mets 13-6 , then lost the next 2 games. Will it change who knows, but for now they are working our nicely.

                              Thanks for asking.
