Prove to me that this isn't my imagination.

We have all been struggling with sliders and trying to find the sweet spot only to find such variation between games. I have yet to see anyone mention this , let alone test it but I noticed that the stadiums play a huge role in how the game plays out. I realize it is obvious that a hitters park will be more hitter friendly and the same goes for a pitchers park leaning in favor of the pitchers but just recently I decided to start testing this. Now, I haven't recorded any stats to back this up but its so obvious that I dont' feel I need to. All I ask is for a couple of you guys to try the following out for 3 or 4 games for each of the following 2 stadiums.

    Safeco (pitchers park)
    Busch Stadium (Hitters Park)

Both stadiums are equal in the blue meter that appears in the stadiums select screen (This is in exhibition by the way).

When you play your games, have the same settings (dont' change your sliders), same teams, same pitchers, if you're the home team at one stadium, keep it the same for the other just so everything is equal.

When I do this, I find that in a pitchers park the game plays out scoreless for half of the game quite often and the hits are like 2-4 per team on average per game. In a hitters park, the scores are like 8-2, 7-4, 6-0, etc. and the hits are between 10-15 for at least one of the teams. I also find that in a pitchers park, I strike the opposing team out 8 or 9 times, whereas in a hitters park, I average about 2.

I guess my point is, as we adjust sliders we need to pay attention to what parks we're playing in because if you set the sliders to achieve a certain type of gameplay (such as variety of hits)in a pitchers park and then go play in a hitters park, you just might get hammered by the CPU and find yourself messing with the settings even more, only to have to tinker again when you play elsewhere.

So, if you have time and are bored, please let me know if you see the same results.

    Thanks

Mmm,interesting concept. If this turns out to be the case, then it could actually go along way in explaining certain aspects of the game.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

This could really put a monkey wrench in slider settings.

Great Observation. I will give it a shot.

I have some sliders that iam really enjoying, and will use into account what park im playing in when analyzing the game results.

        Ill be back soon.

Thats a pretty good point. Played a game last night at Petco Park in my Giants season against the Padres. Is Petco Park a pitchers park? Last night I lost 3-2 on a walk off double. The last couple of games I have played have been low scoring.

            Thanks Garret,

Like I said, its just something I have noticed over time and it could very well be my imagination. Now, I'm not saying that you won't see a low scoring game in a hitters park but to me , in either park the field seems to be tilted in one direction or the other in respect to the type of park it is.

You also have to weigh in the length of that blue bar, I made sure when I played my games that it was equal for both stadium types for comparisons sake.

I've noticed this too, but I think it has more of an effect on the cpu's play...My scoring has pretty much been random, but I do notice the cpu strikes me out a ton more in pitchers parks(even on pitches I know that I am timing correctly). Also, the cpu hitting tends to be more of an advantage in hitters ballparks...take for instance Dodger Stadium...In my game it is a hitters park and everytime I play them, my pitchers get rocked like all hell...In a three game set there with the Rockies, I gave up 42 runs...One game they had 21 runs on 17 hits...I was disgusted by the play, but I did manage to win one of the games...
