What are some important slider changes...

to make before playing your first game. Just so that I am not frustrated after one game and give up. I rented the game today and will be playing when I get home. If there any consensus sliders that obviously need to be changed in order to have a realistic game, please let me know.

I understand it's early and so nobody has had the time to fnie tune their slider set, but I'd like to know the obvious ones before I start.

I'm just getting started in looking at the 08 sliders for myself but one that I recommend being adjusted is the AI THROW STRIKES OVERALL. By default it seem like the CPU throws a very large number of strikes over the plate!!! Some have put this down to zero and seem happy with that setting. I haven't done this myself yet (will in a little bit) but I'd say start out at zero, play a few games and adjust from there.

I for one want a challenge while batting. I want to strike out realistically and get the bat on the ball realistically.

At this early point with 08, this is the only problem that I've seen thus far. I'm sure there will be more that may need to be adjusted but atleast the sliders appear to actually have impact/work this year.

I messed with zeroing out all the AI throw strikes sliders. Definitely seeing more balls and higher pitch counts. I also went ahead and maxed out foul balls. These are the only glaring areas that need fixing. We may need to play around with user batting as well (to make it harder to make soild contact with strikes over the plate).

I agree with adjusting human contact sliders.

I made adjustments to AI contact and power by 5 clicks. The CPU will kill you. To easy to throw meat pitches.

Can't wait for some decent sliders. Definately agree that the throw strikes slider needs to be dropped. They did the recap of the pitches the CPU threw, keep in mind I was in like the 6th or 7th, and they threw me TWO pitches out of the strike zone. I was trying to be patient hitting, but there was no point to. Might need to lower the power a little also, through three games, I havent scored, or gotten scored on too much, but it seems like most runs are coming from HR's. I've only played 3 games though, so I'm gonna reserve this until later.

Also lowered pitch speed a little. I think that has to do with me not being all that good at the game.

I'm getting good results with default Pro slider settings and making the following adjustments:

(Don't have the game turned on right now, so bare with any misnomers)

              AI
              • Throw Strikes Overall - 0
              • Steal 2nd - 75
              • Fielder Aggression - 25
              • Infielder reaction - 0

              User
              • Total Pitch Control Difficulty - 75

Think that's it, but will edit this post if not.

The AI throw strikes overall is def important to be at zero. Now we just to figure out the Throw Strikes Ahead slider in that regard.

I'm going to tinker with some sliders tonight but I've never been very good at creating sets, so don't be expecting too much!

Re: What are some important slider changes...

man having no numbers for the sliders is just stupid!!
just a descent base for guys working on slider sets.

started at pro and adjusted a lot.
strikes thing at 0 like everyone is saying.

off the top of my head after about 10 15 games so far.

guys definately lower inf speed im at 25. for both.

outfielder speed at 40 or so for both.

inf reaction speed lower for sure can't remember number. for both.

steal 2nd at 100. still haven't seen computer try a steal.

pitchout up a little. from 50.

pick up up a lil. from 50.

ai run aggressivness up a little from 50.

power down a little for both. contact up a liitle for both . human and computer.

good pither effectivness up like 10 clicks or so.

also i like tight batting zoomed a little back from 50.

pitch speed like 40 to 45.

more i'm just goin off the top of my head.

human steal success 45 to 48

                    good luck

its never a good thing to have sliders at one extreme or the other.

Im gonna hold off and see what you guys come up with.

                      good luck dudes

Playing on all star So far I would:

Zero out the throw strikes for the cpu pitcher on all 3 sliders

If you are having trouble throwing meatballs and giving up HR's, lower the total control pitching slider before you mess with power controls.

Lower reaction time and fielder speed for infield
