I won the game 1-0 on a solo shot from Russell Martin. I was only able to generate 1 walk, but feel that my aggressiveness at the plate was alot of the problem.

I'm going to try these against a better team, and see how the outcome is. One thing I noticed though....the speed of the infield and outfield may need to come down a touch. It just seemed to me that they were getting to their spots to quickly.
I agree about the IF/OF...I've noticed that too but haven't messed with them yet. I am wondering if contact/skill at 0 will be to low for most folks. I don't know, maybe I blow...lol. I will be interested to see how your next game fares.

I think I'll go ahead and adjust the speed down by 10 to start with.
I'm not really worried about contact and skill just yet.
I'll be going the complete opposite, and playing my next game against the Mets. I know the Pirates aren't exactly a powerhouse,so I figure with going to the opposite,we'll see how things go.

HOPEFULLY....these will provide the balance of good, average and poor teams, that's why I'm not to concerned .....yet lol.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

Just curious, how many K's did Penny have in the no-no?

          If I recall....I believe it was 14.
OK....I just finished my game against the Mets. I won 2-0, Penny had 8 strikeouts, while Santana had 9...no walks, but Santana threw a fair amount of balls.
The speed issue seems to have been corrected (lowered by 10),but what concerns me is the lack of offense by the cpu.
I had 5 hits, and the cpu only had 2....one of their hits was a triple by Beltre, but Penny was able to work out of it.

I think I'm going to up contact at least to default (50),and to compensate, lower power by 10. What I'm hoping for there, is the ratings will come into play with the better "power" hitters.

I'll leave skill at 0 however. I just feel going against a team such as the Mets, there should've been a few more hits.
I feel you're on the right track, hopefully just a few tweaks here and there is all thats needed.

By chance....you wouldn't happen to remember what the default slider was for contact do ya? (on pro)

How exactly does one find the pitch count during a game for the current pitchers??? I looked the other night and it wasn't readily apparent to me. Could have just missed it I guess

Press right or left on the d-pad. It is in the pitcher's drop down. It gives strikes, balls, and total pitches.

                Things I have noticed:

                Too many strikeouts

                Too many homers

                Too many popups

Generally offense isn't there for either team 2 or 3 hits a side

I actually am starting my franchise with these though, I like them.

I tried one of the other sets last night & they were too hard for me, I was getting stomped. I then played a game with these and had my first great game with these settings. I lost 6-4 but it was a great back and forth game. I cant wait to play again tonight with these, and hope its not just a fluke that I finally had a good game. I may even start my franchise over with these.

                  Thanks for the sliders SF.

                    Re: SF's Custom-P Sliders

Played a fun game against the A's (as Boston). I pitched the low men in both orders (Lester and DiNardo -- as of the 2/29 update, at least).

Lester went 7.1 innings with 11 strikeouts. He had one earned run, but that was only because Snyder couldn't keep the runner Lester left on 2nd from scoring on a seeing-eye single. I couldn't be made, though, cuz that play ended the inning as Ellsbury through a beam to third and caught a greedy Oakland baserunner.

Overall, I was satisfied with the game. I felt I was challenged, but had a good amount of satisfaction from my control on the mound. I think I might up the AI's contact or something as 11 Ks with Lester is probably too many.

The other thing I'd like to figure out is: How do I make the umpire stick to the strike zone. I feel I'm seeing to many balls outside the zone called strikes.

Also, it's official: Swing Stick 2.0 has pretty much fixed all of my complaints from last year's iteration.

I have upped the CPU contact to 75, and kept the skill at default. I also have CPU pitch to corners at 70. I'm getting some good games, and am going to use these to start my franchise after I get a set of rosters.

I dropped the outfielder speed, upped the CPU contact up a just a tad and upped the human skill up just a tad and the game plays pretty damn well.

Okay, after a few more games with these I think I've gotten better because the CPU offense has disappeared. While my pitch counts are still good and I'm still walking folks, the CPU just swings and misses a ton.

What I've done now is move up to All-Star default and only put all the throw strike sliders at 0. So far it looks really promising...I lost to the Jays 7-1 and both of us threw well over 100+ pitches. I also liked that I was still able to K the CPU as I had 5 including 2 looking.

I think it is time for me to do the same. I am shutting the CPU down pretty regularly now. I just fear my offense might suffer too much.

Okay, I have now played about 7-8 games on default All-Star with only the AI corner and all AI throw strikes at 1 (didn't go to zero because I saw in Joe's thread he said not to place any at 0). I think the game plays fantastic out of the box at default all star with those adjustments. I have had 2-0 games, 7-0, 6-3, 5-4, games where I K 10 CPU hitters and games where I K 0-2 hitters, games where I K 10 times, and games where I K 3-4 times. The only thing I'm not seeing still is SB attempts by the CPU.

Anyway, there are some great slider sets on here, but if you haven't found anything that works for you just try setting it to default all-star with those changes I mentioned...
