Custom sliders NEED HELP?????
my pitching sliders are fine, but I can never get deep in the count when I am up to bat I zero out all of the AI Pitch strike but they are still throwing strike with a few ball's. I am playing with total control and swing stick 2.0. Can anyone help me get deep in the count when I am at bat or walks?????Tags: None -

Re: Custom sliders NEED HELP?????
Where do you go to control other teams pitch ratings??? Can you do this in Franchise mode? This is an issue that many here have complained about. Some have seen success with some of the slider sets posted and others have not seen an improvment as far as the CPU pitchers throwing a realistic number balls off the plate. I did a little experiment over the weekend where I went in and modified some control ratings for a pitcher and then picked him to pitch against me in an exhibition game. The results were encouraging as I was walked 2 or 3 times over the first 5 innings. It's just a matter of coming up with the right formula in modifying these ratings. Also, making these changes could have an impact on simulated games that CPU plays out during franchise and season modes. So I'm a little gun shy to make these changes across the board for all pitchers in the league *eeek*Last edited by scott4171; 03-10-2008, 03:11 AM.Comment

Re: Custom sliders NEED HELP?????
To make the initial edits, you have to go into manage rosters and make the changes for each pitcher individually. I'm at work so I forget how much I reduced the control ratings by but it did in fact help with getting the cpu to throw more off the plate. In fact, the pitches off the plate tended to vary more and missed by larger distances than before making the edits which is a good thing :-)
I think this may be the way to go but like I said, it's possible said edits could mess with CPU simulated games thus giving some skewed pitching stats for CPU teams.Last edited by Hoos; 03-10-2008, 03:24 AM.XBL Gamertag: hoos4974
